I have never felt such a relief to see how much little matters, how I shouldn't care about other's opinions unless they are credible ,well articulated and genuine. The best part is that people don't really care about what you do or what you are as you thought. The power of not giving a fuck and "not a lot of things matters at the end" is really liberating.

It's crazy how Bill hit the nail on the head but said it at the end. The SJW's dont care whether the joke was funny or not, they could even think the joke was hilarious but still be "Problematic". What they are doing/think they are doing, is by stopping a joke with what they think is a harmful message they are saving people. They think that "Oh the joke was about how wife beaters wont stop because they saw NFL chastising them, but the joke involved wife beating and that shouldn't be joked about because it makes light of the issue and normalizes that behavior" which is a dumb as fuck way to think about shit.

Pushing back against pc cancel culture will garner comedians more fans than they’d ever lose...sjw’s are a vocal minority
@croisaor23085 жыл бұрын
I think that’s a bad way to go about it. If you push too hard you just end up trying too hard and changing what made you funny in the first place. You just have to do what you do and try and avoid negativity. I feel Chappelle’s special suffered from trying too hard to anger people that the comedy suffered. I prefer Bill’s approach of just doing it his way and not giving a shite what anyone thinks.
@Cipher_X_x5 жыл бұрын
Those who’re doing well in comedy would disagree. Seinfeld is non controversial in his routine and yet he pushes back against pc culture. Others like Chapelle and most comedians routines are intended to push the envelope and offend, so it’s better for them to push back and not appear weak
@Cipher_X_x5 жыл бұрын
Croí Saor Chapelle’s special is the most talked about comedy of forever, wildly successful for his brand
@croisaor23085 жыл бұрын
@@Cipher_X_x That's my point though. People should push back by just doing their routines; like Seinfeld, and not changing it up either to offend or not to offend because that means they've changed what made them special. I watched Chappelle's new special and while it has gotten a lot of attention for the offensive nature both from those who defend and oppose it, I feel that the actual comedy has suffered when compared to his earlier works. He's still one of the best comedians out there; he's in my top three, but I do worry he tried too hard to stoke controversy. It worked for him of course so he will definitely keep doing it, but for me personally I feel he's lost a bit of the style that he was known for.
@Cipher_X_x5 жыл бұрын
Croí Saor I hear you, and yes it was not his funniest special at all, but that’s possibly just because his others were so high level. It’s possible he’s ok with that because he considers the issues with the attacks on comedians more important than money, I agree but I’m one person, overall the large majority don’t like political correctness, so this is why it helps his brand

Except when it comes to jobs because then you have to be approved/accepted. I was a complete narcissist in my younger days, seeking approval through bodybuilding, and could not live without it. Then I educated myself, pursuing a Master's degree in Economics, and got strong internal validation. Quit all social media after a period also which also made my life much better. The downside is that you are no longer in the majority, you are in the minority where only a few people really understand you. Thus, achieving your goal and finding a good partner becomes an absolute must.

Dylan Wilson that's because he doesn't have a stage personality or comedy persona. All he's got are those stoner vibes of some random dude at a party you have a funny convo with at 3 AM. When I saw burr at the stand I never wanted his set to end..but then when it did I bolted out and missed the next comedian in the Hope's of meeting him ..although it was a brief meeting I managed to get a selfie which is important bc it didnt hapoen unless you have proof these days. Thrilled that night that I knew ahead of time. It was a real treat.

Maybe some people don't really appreciate that there is a process on the way to a finished piece and that process is often hard and can crush your soul. But if you understand it you know that it is a strong character that consciously chooses to go through it again and again. Mad respect for guys and gals like Burr Rogan and all artists who know what it takes.

When it comes to these types of situations i really admire a quote from a mid level comedian who's name i can't remember. Anyways, the quote is "did everything i say offend you or when it only applied to you".

Find me someone who is “liked by everyone” and I’ll show you a yes-man that has no boundaries and gets walked all over. People generally dislike someone who tells them no or disagrees with them. It’s human nature. Bill Burr just doesn’t give a shit. He gets that and sees the humor in it. Funniest guy around.

Thank you for this, Bill and Joe. I respect you both so fucking much. For someone who's been misunderstood their entire life, I used to really have an issue with people not liking me, therefore I instantly became friends with everyone just to keep some "moral ground" I suppose. As I've gotten older I now notice how you only really have 1-3 good friends, and the rest are just friendly faces, and some not so friendly. What helps me the most with this is the fact that I drum my ass off like a fucking wild animal that hasnt been discovered yet. BILL BURR I know you drum and so do I, check out Zach Hill, he's the greatest drummer you've never heard of. Once you realize that he does his thing and doesnt give a fuck, you notice why he's so special and that to him just playing is all that matters. Fuck what people think because most thoughts suck anyway, if you're being honest.
