looks good fellas. The best setup for the halo rings is to wire in a normally closed relay into the ignition wire power feed. Then the switch wire can be parkers or low beam which turns off the halo rings when the head lights are on.

It’s worth getting covered plugs for the back of the switch for the DRLs, nothing like getting a short at night on corrugations from the plug popping off... or you can heat shrink or tape them.

As others said only need to remove chrome ring for install. Also 70 series owners install is identical to the patrol, did mine 2 months ago, although came with canbus fittings. Great video. Cheers

An old vid but note the big black spot in front on low beam. I have the same issue. You need to elevate them heaps to get any distance which creates a black spot in front. I replaced a set of cheap EBay but find they were actually a better light. The lenses also get a weird fog pattern on them and have too much spread. Mmm an expensive mistake!

Just a heads up for anyone installing these, you don't need to undo the adjusters (and in turn needing to reset the adjustment) to remove the headlights. Remove the whole housing with the 4 10mm bolts to the chassis then you only need to pull the retaining ring off.

Love ya work lads, I've watched other 4X4 Aussie vids and although they're good in their own right kinda miss what 4X4 driving is all about which is straight up grass roots. I run Stedi Type X sports and are going with Stedi for a the conversion headlights (I've a 89 GQ). Go Stedi if you want quality.

Next time get a small drill bit and drill the grill where to just undo the lock ring for the headlight... and ya trigger wire doesn’t need to be fused cause anything under the dash is already fused

Did you guys have to cut/trim the headlight housing? I have a pair of Stedi Iris' and I've had to trim the housing to allow the lugs on the headlight to sit in the grooves on the housing. Yours looked like they went in without a worry.

If you shine them on a wall is it a totally flat beam or does it kick up to the passenger side? Been trying to find out as I want flat beams for my global overland rig for when I drive on the opposite side of the road.

@@gaj5701 If they are ADR approved they will have a kick up on the passenger side of the road. You will need to suss out another brand that does flat cut offs.

@@DashboardJesus999 You can have a stepped beam under all lighting regs, ADR, E, FMVSS, JIS, TUV etc. irrespective of which side the step is, as long as the upper & lower part of the beam pattern falls within the upper & lower beam height limit. If it does, it's considered a flat beam under lighting regs & can be used everywhere (I'm a former auto design engineer). Whilst Stedi say it's ADR approved for RHD, there's no mention of it either being a true angled kick pattern or a flat step which is why I was asking 👍

That’s not how ADR approved works 😂😂😂 I run JTX 5x7 halos on my 94 ln106 and I’ve been pulled over by cops and been asked for my certificate for em and I’m sent on my way. If they’re ADR approved they’re legal and not defective 😂

A.D.R approved, not likely, if you inquire with STEDI, as I did, they will tell you none of their L.E.D lights are A.D.R approved & my extensive research into getting projector headlights into my 2013 Landcruiser VDJ79R and all the engineer approval & testing that goes along with it to get it passed, simply put, if L.E.D lights came out standard on your model vehicle they are 100% legal, if not, they are 100% illegal and un-roadworthy, something to think about if you have insurance that you don't want voided or cause a crash at night and are deemed to be at fault because of blinding headlight glare.
