A similar thing happened when they started introducing the (arguably) superior CVT transmission into cars. CVT transmissions are designed to keep the RPMs of an engine within its power band as much as possible, thus increasing the efficiency and power that the car is able to give. However, doing this means that the engine stays at pretty consistent RPMs even while accelerating, which confused a lot of drivers getting their first CVT car, so in current models of CVT car they decrease the efficiency and power of the car intentionally by making the CVT appear to shift gears, making the car spend time outside the power band of the engine all to satisfy customers who are used to the inferior form of geared transmission we’ve all had for so long.

It's important to remember that off-brand foods usually taste better than big brand ones. They're either made from the exact same process but cost a fraction of the price or they're made with different ingredients that actually end up being (marginally) healthier and better tasting. The companies that make them wouldn't have the budge for a RnD department designed to manipulate you into an addiction either.

This is why Lays Stacks is superior to Pringles on absolutely every aspect. 1. The shape of the container conforms to the hyperbolic geometry of the chips, so it’s more space-efficient 2. The chips are thicker, so they are less likely to break and have a more satisfying crunch 3. And individual chip ACTUALLY HAS A DECENT AMOUNT OF FLAVOR. When I eat salt and vinegar chips, for example, I want WRINKLED LIPS at the end of the tube, not disappointment. And they still keep the best aspects of Pringles while removing all of their problems: the hyperbolic shape, the crunch, the cylindrical container, etc. I rest my case

Good video generally. Saturated Fat is commonly misunderstood, typically it's actually the healthier fat from my understanding (although you want a quality food source). Looking at the Pringles ingredients the bigger issue with the fats is their vegetable oils (also known as 'seed oils' in the case of corn, soy, etc.). Ultra-processed oils, which are in tons of food nowadays. If you really want a deep-dive, "The Ancestral Diet Revolution" is one source to dive into.

I think one of the reasons we like crunchy/crispy foods because it completes the senses... Before oil was a thing or frying wasn't the norm, the common senses that a person can take while eating are 4: Scent for smelling the food, sight if the food looks good, taste for obvious reasons, and touch/to be in contact with the food for the mouthfeel... but nothing with sound; until Egyptians fry the very first foods like cake, and bang!! it satisfies the 5 senses. "Egyptian baker that fries doughnut" Egyptian 1: *Takes a crisp bite* Egyptian 2: "Yo that sounds good" (See what I did there)

Basically, every American based food product shipped to the UK & EU are made by EU's food standards. Compared to the US, The EU has far stricter standards that have to be met in order for foods to be imported from the US. Pringles helped me achieve a healthy weight :) I was underweight at about 120lb at 5'9. I work a physical job and have a high metabolism/low appetite. It was looking pretty gross, you could see all of my muscles. Forget about a 6-8-10 pack, if I flexed my entire abdomen looked like a checkerboard. And it was not appealing. My instincts told me that Pringles were more starchy than other foods and that if I ate them it would plug me up and help me hold on to food easier. So I started snacking on 2 tubes a week eaten entirely per sitting and in a couple months my weight shot up to a much healthier 155lb. I even touched 160! It was the heaviest I've been in my life.
