Football fans like Saeed always want to look at things in the extreme. The reality is that the majority of things follow a grey area and aren’t in black and white. We have achieved the season objective of top 4 and a trophy, it doesn’t mean we’ve over achieved, he has done something which is acceptable. In terms of implementing his philosophy he’s done anything but that. Persisting with Bruno and Rashford when you want to keep the ball and control games and wanting the likes of Mount at the club seems very confusing to me.

I agree. If ETH still has a desire to transition to an Ajax possession style system, this season hasn't been anywhere close to a success from that perspective. Look at De Zerbi. The banter and LIV crashing after going for 4 trophies, and a domestic cup with the style they're playing...nah. At this moment, it feels much more like he's decided to go with a counter attacking pragmatic system.

The problem here is that fans (Saeed in this case) seem to think ETH is trying to re-create Ajax at United... And he has never, ever, said that. He has never stated on the record the style of play he's aiming for, so let's stop criticising him for not doing something he never claimed to be doing. It's very clear that he just wants to win, he's taking the path of least resistance and just trying to secure trophies as quickly as possible (which he has). City are literally the ONLY team to win the PL playing possession-based tekky football, and it took Pep a few years to assemble a team capable of doing it. ETH does not have the players or time to do that right now, he has to win RIGHT NOW and no fans want to hear him talking about a 'process'. I agree 100% with playing a more direct style to get things moving. 'If' he wants to eventually play the style he had at Ajax, it's going to take a few years and at least 6 elite players. Just let the man do his job and hope we get new owners to support his vision. He's doing just fine.

99% of professional footballers can adapt to possession football. It requires a game-plan and specific coaching to ensure the movement of the ball allows for 1 & 2 touch football. You can't tell me that Brighton, Villa, and Fulham have better footballers than Man UTD. They are expertly coached and managed to play in a certain way. The problem for ETH is he wasted his honeymoon year chasing success. We have gained some success but our football has hardly progressed at all. I would have been happy to sacrifice a year where we tried to become a possession based team. At least I could sit here looking forward to next year. We are giving the manager a free pass by saying "he needs his players". He deserves more time but I expect to see a better brand of football next year.

Since the Carabao cup final I've been questioning alot of his decisions and his style of play because like Rants says it looks like Rock n Roll football like Klopp but at Ajax he was playing possession football. Everyone says we don't have the players which is true but you can still create your style with bums because Klopp and Pep did it in their first seasons and they got dodgy results but still kept to their philosophy because they knew in a year we can get better players to improve the team but with Ten Hag it's just an individual with better players from last season. And there's a lot of players who shouldn't be started suiting his style because a lot of them have are the darlings to these fans and the club he starts them and never subs them always even if they have stinkers. The likes of DDG, Shaw, Bruno and Rashford these players aren't possession players especially Bruno because the fact Ten Hag accepts him giving the ball away easily is even questionable itself about his style because Pep would've binned in the next transfer window. All these created chances these stats come up with yet he creates chances to other teams and we've seen against better teams with the better players we will get smoked by the likes of City and Liverpool especially away. Even DDG he don't have feet to play out the back and Rashford another liability because like Bruno he just wants glory it's why they work better together because it's just hoof ball and run into behind with them some relegation style of players. There's hardly no build up player because the midfield stinks of ball retention and creativity. The facts are he talks about playing possession ball but he plays players who just runs away and he wants Mount even if we get the Qatari and he still wants then like Rants says that just shows you where we're going with him. We know the Qatari will back him with who to buy and sell and if he still wants to patch of these bums at United then that's him setting himself for failure and he's just another vibes manager. If I see the likes of DDG, Shaw, Bruno and Rashford always starting then forget about the PL title because they might be the stats merchants but they're also big liabilities

I feel like not many ppl over there follow updates on Neymar's injuries? English media seems to describe it so vaguely. PSG's medical team decided against surgery when he had his first few issues with his ankle at the club. A lot of people in Brazil said it was a mistake, bc the longer they waited the more he'd be at risk of frequent relapses due to wear and tear of the ligaments I guess (i aint a doctor thats just how I remember it being explained). Now that stopped putting off the damn surgery though, word is that with proper rehab the ankle won't be as fragile and he'll be less injury prone than he has been recently. Obv he's 31, so that comes with its own problems. It'd be dumb to be totally reliant on him being available the entire season, but that's true abt any player). I think Man Utd is the best destination for him mainly bc of Casemiro, who's one of the few Brazilian players who seems to treat Neymar as an equal, not a legend above reproach. And Ten Hag obviously wouldn't put up with any shit from him. I think it's a way better environment for him than PSG ever was.

We still don't have an identity or playing style at all. Feels like it's still Ole ball. It didn't take time for De Zerbi to implement his playing style/identity at Brighton. The players Brighton have, are they possession type of players? i.e Dunk, Webster, Gross, Welbeck, Undav? I agree, I was mildly hopeful early on but the manager didn't back himself. When the going got tough his game-plan changed to getting the ball in behind for Rashford to run onto. A brave manager would have sacrificed the short-term for long term gains. We are a year in with better players but no improvement in style.

Lads do some research for once. It's pretty obvious isn't it? We're playing with 2 advanced 8's in Bruno and Mount (absolute pressing monsters... again no coincidence there) with Casemiro slotting in behind them. One of Dalot or Shaw will play alongside Casemiro as the inverted fullback. While it's no secret that Ten Hag would dearly want a progressive ball carrier and master of the first phase of the buildup (i.e. Frenkie who's generational in said role), the issue is we can't get him so we've got to make do with what we've got and by bringing in the likes of KMJ and hopefully a Diogo Costa our problems in that first phase buildup would be solved that way.
