I think you’ve already added enough to the conversation. We can still access all your really educational and helpful videos. It might help your recovery to take a step back from MH vids as you could maybe reestablish your identity. Idk about you but I struggle to see myself without my mental health, so reinvesting your time into law of attraction videos (or whatever you’re interested in) might help you xx just do what you want xx

Mental health Monday’s are really helpful and I do really enjoy them (and I know many ppl who find them beneficial) HOWEVER you have contributed a lotttt to the conversation and if your recovery and own mental health would be better by moving on to something else - do it. You have to create content that feels good for you, not for others or you’ll fall out of love with it all. Sending hugs. X

honestly i would still watch! when mh youtubers make videos that are not about mental health its actually a good reminder that you are more than your mental health and your sole worth is not based of your bad times or mental illnesses. if you made your channel more lifestyle or just whatever your felt like filming i would actually find that so inspiring as it becomes a more genuine reflection on living a life in recovery- some days or weeks it does imapct you and you feel like talking about it but other times its just somthing you've learnt/ are learning to manage and your life is so much more. One of the scariest parts of recovery for me is working out who i am beyond my mental health problems and whats left in my life without them- so seeing somebody who has struggeled and been through a time where they were defined by their mental illness to becoming who are you are now is so hopeful, reassuring and inspiring. love u always :) xxx

Okay ima be as real as possible. Your niche on yt is mental health and that's where the majority of your followers come from. You have definitely contributed so much to the conversation and if you feel you need to take a step back from that content you should so as to not burn out. However from a realistic standpoint your sub and view count will probably fall at least for a bit until you find your new niche and thus other viewers (honestly just check which of ur vids get more views and you'll have a good idea as to the engagement) basically my main point is don't get discouraged if views go down for a bit they'll climb back up and its important you enjoy what you do! Giving us an idea of what you'd do with the channel would just help ppl give feedback on if they'd enjoy it. :)) good luck!!

Hey Marie! I definitely subscribed for your mental health content, and it’s helped me so much and made me feel so much less alone. Especially going through my own hospitalisation and such. I had never found a video before of something Going Through It in the same way I have. I personally really like your mental health content, and also your sorta mental health + life content. I love feeling that personal connection, sorta like we’re all friends? And you’re sharing your life with us? So I guess wherever you bring your videos next, I hope it stays your-life focused, and that it includes mental health. I know a lot of creators have moved over to doing true crime videos and stuff, and honestly I’d absolutely hate that! There’s already a lot of creators in that niche. Idk if this makes any sense. Love you Marie xx support you 100%

I would honestly really miss regular mental health content because it makes me feel less alone in my struggles with the community it creates etc. But I also don’t want you to feel forced or unhappy with what you’re posting. Would love to see more of that “what happens when series” if you felt able to carry that one on. I’d also love spiritual/manifestation/zodiac/gratitude videos if you went down a different route with your channel :) I feel like doing a weekly “gratitude journal with me” or something could be really cute but idk how that would work. Whatever you decide, I wouldn’t unsubscribe 💛

Your openness about mental health has been incredibly valuable and you’ve helped so many people, including me. However, you are so much more than your mental health story and your experiences with mental illness. Don’t feel like you have to keep those things as the main theme of your channel just because the majority of your followers found you through that. There are so many other things you can make content about and I think I’m talking for practically everyone when I say that we enjoy all of your content and we’re excited to stick around to see what’s more to come!
@l39613 жыл бұрын
Do you have an idea of the type of content you would want to focus on instead of the mental health videos? I think if you have more of an idea of what the channel is going to look like, you might be able to get better feedback from people about whether they would watch/engage with the content. Maybe have a think about how you could adapt the Patreon content to make videos that won't be demonetised on here since you seem to be enjoying making those?

one of the hardest parts of recovering from my mental illnesses was letting go of them. it sounds a bit silly, i know, but for seven years, it was all i knew. as i began my recovery, i followed a bunch of recovery blogs/forums/pages to help inspire me and keep me motivated. but i've been feeling off recently and my therapist and i were talking about it, and we both came to the conclusion that i just give it too much power sometimes. community is such a powerful thing and i'd love to one day do /something/ with my story and experience, but i've found that it's a fweird, ine line. there's a fuzzy grey area between community/advocacy being helpful and being something that's holding you back. i think being part of the community can sometimes be more harmful for us-- even if it's a positive community. i personally have found myself building my personality around my mental health & recovery, and i've let it become an identity, and i think a lot of people can relate to that. do what you need to do to continue your recovery, even if that's keeping it in the past or keeping it private. we're here for YOU. we just want you to be happy and okay! x
@charlottephillips81733 жыл бұрын
You have added so much to breaking the stigmas and things around mental health even though it doesn't always seem like it cause its a massive thing and don't forget your only one person and there is only so much you can contribute to it. Personally subscribed to you for your mental health content and I do find it really helpful. But it's your channel and it's up to you what you want to do with it if you want to move away from mental health it's completely your choice whatever will make you happy cause I don't think that people would find it as helpful if it were forced verses if it was something you wanted to do. Really hope this doesn't' come across rude or anything like that! Love your videos. Stay safe and Happy New Year!

I watch your channel because of mental health videos. It’s very relatable and I really enjoy seeing your life progress and seeing how things move forward with you. It feels like I’m not going through this journey alone (even though I don’t know you it’s just nice having this kind of story being represented). I would watch your channel from time to time but probably less engaged as before. You asked for honesty so here are my thoughts. I've watched you for a while, really hope you get all the growth and success you deserve for your channel, and above all that you have all the happiness you deserve. I think with KZbin you need a niche and mental health has been that for you, so if you want to grow but not make mental health videos you would have to find another niche. There's lots of avenues you could explore but I think it would be hard to detach yourself from the mh stuff as that's what brought lots of people to your channel. But if you made interesting content that you really enjoy, people would watch it. I think some would inevitably be less interested, but you would gain new subscribers. Of course, do what's best for you but I would say that your insight on mh is very valued and the occasional video would be helpful. I'll stick around to see what path you go down but regardless of the future your videos have helped me a lot anyway so thank you 💕 sorry that's so rambly lol

Yeah, my Christmas was intense as well, that’s a good word for it. I felt like I don’t fit into my family at all and I had a lot of shitty conversations on Christmas Eve with family members I luckily just see twice a year. There’s always a lot of pressure on Christmas and my family members don’t like coming together which I feel every year and it’s fckd up. It’s always so much pressure. Well, but Christmas Day was actually pretty good cause I spent it over at my boyfriends house with his family and some friends at the evening which was nice too. But I’m always exhausted after the holidays and it’s always too much food which makes me feel bad for days cause I’m always forced to eat stuff which my body doesn’t like 🤷🏻♀️

Hi! I really enjoy your mental health content and that's the reason I found your channel! I'm a mental health nursing student and personally find it really interesting and informative to hear perspectives from the other side, I.e hearing your own experience and perspective vs what we're taught about mental health. So I feel you offer a really unique (and brave) view to the conversation. 👌If you stopped/ reduced the amount of mental health chat would I stop watching? Probably not all together, I probably wouldn't un subscribe :) You're relatable af, and at this point, I've watched your channel for long enough that I'd probably still enjoy your content. However, it's important to not burn yourself out. If you kept up consistent mental health content but your heart wasn't in it, your content would probably suffer anyway.. Its easy to tell when the people on youtube start fighting to keep their channels exactly like what they think everyone wants from them and it shows in the content if that makes any sense? So if your hearts not in it but your trying to keep it up, it's not going to be that great for anyone 😂 Which leads me to say that if you're just not feeling it, don't chase it and I'm sure you'll find content out of other areas of your life 😊 Sorry for the ramble, I hope this helps and that hope you're doing OK! Happy New Year! 😊 ❤️

i definitely subbed because of your mh content, you’ve made such good videos in that genre and you’ve already put SO much out there that i struggle to think of anything else you could possibly post mh wise, but i will honestly miss those if they were to stop completely! the ‘what happens when’ series was probably my favourite and i feel like that’s the only series you could probably continue (in terms of making new content to do with mh). i may have subbed for those reasons but i stayed because your outlook on the world and your interests and the way you shared those things with us felt so important. i would stay if your channel completely diverted from mh, but please don’t be discouraged if you do drop subs and views- that’s inevitable, but you will gain new subs eventually who are interested in the new direction your channel will go. good luck my love!!🖤

Speaking from personal experience, I set up my page for The Nackered Networker on Facebook with the specific intent of helping others. It turned into so much more & covers lots of other issues too. However, as an example, I found it very difficult to post daily content throughout the whole of Epilepsy Awareness Month, a subject I cover a lot as I have the condition. I personally think you should limit your mental health posts to once a month. Especially as, on some occasions, it could be potentially triggering for you if your workload is high from posting on other forms of social media. But then again, I'm probably being a bit paternal with you. lol Whatever your decision, take care. 👍😊💜

If I’m being honest I’d love different content other than mental health like vlogs, hauls, grwm kinda things or challenges with friends etc I only tend to watch MH videos when I’m struggling as such so it’ll be nice to see a little different.. like you said we come to KZbin for escapism and distraction ❤️ would absolutely love to see a fake tan routine gal x

i'd watch reguardless, i like your channel. you've added so much to YT, your old MH videos will always be there unless you take them down, and they do help, it would be nice to see you explore what you like doing, maybe going into makeup more.... anything...

When I found your channel, I subscribed because your MH content has helped me through a lot and I love those videos, but I'd love to see different content from you, if that's what you want to do. It's ok if you want to take a step back from your MH content if you need to. Do whatever makes YOU happy. Lots of love and Happy New Year from Spain 🇪🇸❤️

I support that decision! I totally wouldn't unsubscribe. I love watching your videos. You do what you want to. When you want to make a mental health video, you can do that! If you want to make blogs, do that!

I think videos doing challenges with friends could be fun. I was also thinking combining vlogs with any self-growth stuff would be quite motivational to watch (meditation, law of attraction or maybe even any physical/exercise progress as you recover from your injuries)
