You should definitely at one point re-visit Leipzig and go to Chemie in the 4th league. They have a great small stadium, very nice atmosphere and a close friendship to Eintracht Frankfurt.

RB is just a plastic project,with plastic fans.The stadium was half empty again,no wonder. Not saying this as an Eintracht fan,but as a football fan who wannt our football saved.I do not wannt Bundesliga to become the next English Premier League where everything is about money and sponsorships,but at the same time ordinary fans are pushed out of stadiums.I would rather watch my beloved Frankfurt play in the second division as to be some rich guys ego playground. I like the way you fairly summed up the RB Leipzig experience. You are correct that they are targeting families. Dad can take his kid to the game in safety to watch exciting football. If this was in the Australian A-League & the club were drawing full houses every week everyone would say what a success it was. But it’s Germany with its 50+1 rule & supporters resistant to modern football, so they are never going to be accepted in their present form, whatever they do.

Funny you say that cos I see huge partakes between Suncorp stadium and the Leipzig one. But also in Austria RB is incredibly hated, despite them actually feeding the local economy which is a big reason why Hoffenheim is regarded slightly better by Germans. And Bundesliga is just different, always get a spot for €18 euros and it’s just a different feeling when you know your voice matters in the club

Eintracht Frankfurt and there Fans polarize and have an mixed reputation as well. We are f*ckin' many and we are fuckin' loud :) But Eintracht has Hools as well and makes Headlines with hard stuff. "Wir sind Adler. Keiner mag uns, scheißegal!" is a well used shout in the stands ("We are eagles. Nobody likes us. We don't f*ckin' care!").

Another rant about them would have been redundant as you stated. I think everything about it has been discussed now, they are not even bugging me anymore, I just do not care about them at all. But the Red Bull franchise of Leipzig and clubs such as Hoffenheim certainly do not make the Bundesliga more attractive, not only in Germany. But actually, I don't really care. These days, I certainly prefer watching the 2. Bundesliga, the 3. Liga, the Regionallia West with my hometown club or a proper English Championship or League One fixture!

In Frankfurt you have to try Apfelwein, our traditionel cider. On cold days they also serve it hot. Delicious!!! Don't drink the beer in the stadium, its shit. And try the Rindswurst its a regional sausage.

Good to hear. In Sachsenhausen, a part of Frankfurt you'll find some traditionel Apfelwein Pubs. You can mix it with sparkling water, orderd as Sauer gespritzt. Best option.

Although thats probably an incredibly controversial opinion i actually like both RB and what they're doing with their money. Their youth support brought up so many of amazing players and they rarely buy popular players and rather make them themselves xd you just need to look at Kimmich , Nkunku, Olmo.... And it's one of the few stadiums where you actually feel completely safe regardless if your alone or with family

Normally you can't even talk About RB without people shouting profanities xd I think if we'd let the fan base develop for a while and give it an honest chance they would become more similar to the one's we already have but tbh that's just depending on what kind of atmosphere you like! However "untraditional" it might sound I'd actually love to see more east German teams with a proper financial support climbing up the leagues. That seemed to be the biggest thing holding them back after the reunification of Germany and even now, that they're unable to even establish a safe financial basis to train and profit their teams. xd just my opinion tho

Next time you are in Frankfurt, I recommend visiting Kickers Offenbach, a very traditional club stuck in the 4th tier. Fierce rivals of EintrachtFrankfurt and Darmstadt. The Frankfurt - Darmstadt derby is second to the derby’s against Offenbach. In recent history, Darmstadt was meant to be relegated to 4th tier in 2012/13. But due to financial troubles, Offenbach was relegated instead. Darmstadt then went on the he twice promoted to the bundesliga in the following 2 seasons. This has further strengthened the derby and is one I will not miss should it ever happen again.

I'd say a big part is the geographical location Red Bull chose to build their project. No first tier football in that area for at least 35 years. So you get a lot of curious spectators through all age groups and maybe some students (Leipzig is a university town). But the fact they can't even sell out a Sunday game against the current runner up of the table shows that it's just an entertaining circus.

Over there only 20-30% wear a jersey when going to the stadium because they don't feel that need to wear a uniform. In Leipzig it is way more than 30%. You might might not like it, but that shows the different kind of upringing. It is subconcious thing that you are not even aware of.

They wanted to call themselves Red Bull, but the rules say you cant advertise with your name (Bayer is an exception i believe). So they just went for the RB instead. Everybody knows it means Red bull, but officially its "RasenBall" which means something like "LawnBall". They wanted something like FC or AFC or something lots of teams use but i dont think anyone has ever called themselves "LawnBall" here so its kinda absurd. Just adds up to all the bs they do that they have such a made up name to try to fit in.

I like the way you fairly summed up the RB Leipzig experience. You are correct that they are targeting families. Dad can take his kid to the game in safety to watch exciting football. If this was in the Australian A-League & the club were drawing full houses every week everyone would say what a success it was. But it’s Germany with its 50+1 rule & supporters resistant to modern football, so they are never going to be accepted in their present form, whatever they do.
