I Faced the Splatoon 3 Side Order FINAL BOSS...

The New Splatoon 3 Side Order DLC is amazing and I managed to face the Final Boss ALREADY!
This was on my Second attempt with only 2 Max Lives and no other Hacks included.
I also include some after thoughts after beating the boss!
I plan to start doing FULL RUNS of Max Lives at 1 and beating 100% all of side order with all available weapons!

I did honestly really enjoy the twist at the beginning that the first "run" of the spire was actually the tutorial. I might be wrong, but I can't think of a roguelike that does that, where you do a full completed run and when you get to the end, it's revealed that was just a tiny taste of it

It honestly wasn't even a twist. At the halfway point, you're going to expect it to be a tutorial since there is dialogue the entire time teaching you how to play the game. Also, I love how you're being proven wrong in the comments.

After seeing some comments here and even a few in the live chat, I can't help but feel that a lot of splatoon players have never played a roguelike, like, holy moly guys, you do realize that that this is meant to be played over and over again, even after beating the final boss

I think the main sentiment is that we know that it needs to be replayed, but even compared to other roguelikes, there's very little content to motivate a replay beyond just wanting to. Personally, I want to replay it so that helps, but aside from unlocking the pallets/logs, the story ends on the first run, and by 3-4 runs you've seen most of the floors you can come across. It's still enjoyable, and OFC we won't get a full game of content in a DLC, but I do understand the people who say it's too short.

My first run with the Splattershot, I was able to clear it, but now that I'm trying different weapons, this mode is getting difficult😂 Marina's Palette with the Brella is a struggle!

Try out the tri stringer! It's a pretty bad weapon in normal play, but side order has vindicated my belief that it would be INSANE with just 1 or 2 meaningful buffs. Piercing with it effectively doubles its damage, and it benefits more from buffs like hinderance damage and explosion radius/damage than anything else in the game

slosher makes the game easy mode with triple inkstrike imo (also investing in the pearl drone helps a LOT.)

There’s a vending machine chip that allows you to use the brella shield permanently, even while firing. (Basically turning it into a beefed up undercover brella) I got that chip and focused on the drone and my damage/range/fire rate and finished it on the first go, your abilities, chips is your key to get to the top, same with marinas hacks.

For the palettes with bias towards pearl drone I just set inkstrike and bombs and let pearl do all the work for me. I haven't tried many other weapons but it got to the point that pearl basically played it herself by refilling her inkstrike off the kills the bombs get because they're so cheap at higher chip count.

Even though this fight was relatively easy, it was definitely a lot of fun with max upgrades. Also the Ebb & Flow Remix was fire

loved the DLC, loved the roguelike aspect to it, since it was fun to play...and it doesn't need wifi to play, since Splatoon 3 keeps losing connection randomly also...never thought we'd see Acht's eyes at all, so that was a surprise overall only issue I had with the DLC...was the lack of bosses, having only 4 bosses felt small to me

Clearing the tower once is just scratching the surface. You get more lore and context with every run. It's not over till you clear the spire with every weapon type!

its probably because they made your first clear of the game feel like the actual ending of the game with all the cutscenes. oh and also the way there are not many different kinds of objectives for levels but each full run is 30 levels (minus 3 if excluding bosses) so if you are playing back to back to back for multiple hours, it gets repetitive. still overall fun though with the color chip system and nice rewards.

I say this boss's difficulty is on par with DJ Octavio's final bossfight. A little challenge but very fun to fight, I came with a very OP Agent 8 though. Other Agent 8 players, i'd love to see what abilities you had coming to this fight. Also FLY OCTO FLY LAST MINUTE REMIX HITS HARD.

tri stringer was actually my first clear of this, I was just goofing around too and I somehow beat it! Tri stringer with splash damage/radius up goes absolutely insane, 1000+ damage per explosion by the end. Roll attack also helped me a ton as a get off me tool which tri stringer really needs (also the paint stringer outputs is great for that ability too so it's like double synergy)

This is definitely one of my favorite, if not my favorite, final boss in the Splatoon series. Splatoon 1's DJ Octavio might still be my #1, but this is definitely the same calibur to me. So, I could say either one is my favorite based on how I'm feeling at the moment.

I made it a challenge to complete the 30th floor without upgrading my lives. I wanted to know I could do the whole run with one life. Now I’ll upgrade it as I did complete the tower. This DLC is SO FUN!!!

I beat it first with roller and again the other night, first run through with 3 lives on tri-stringer. I'm a stringer user in S+/X so maybe my learned scrappiness saved me in Side Order, but it's really not too bad with the upgrades on the color chips. Now charger, on the other hand.....not sure if I want to touch that lmao. I can't use a charger to save my life.

Because, as with all roguelites, if you're really good and lucky, you can clear the first run and fight the final boss rather quickly. However, the first run only scratches the surface of what this DLC has to offer! No single run is alike and you get more lore and upgrades with each attempt!
