It's unclear to me what the problem was. Was it that you were running the saw over the height of your head? Was the danger that the trunk may kick back and hit your head?

The average viewer might not understand the level of difficulty in making these face cuts at the height he performs them. A master sawyer like Finnish Lumberjack is likely aware that his viewership base is mostly here to be entertained and isn't aware of the dangers associated with attempting these movements without some degree of experience. FL knows exactly what he's doing, and he does it precisely, because he is an experienced professional. He doesn't want the average viewer to think they can assess the risks of his actions properly (as an experienced sawyer would) and attempt something like this. The speed with which he reads tension and compression as he operates in this upload speaks to the experience that he has. He makes it look easy; he's saying it ain't, and you shouldn't try it if you've just bought a chainsaw to deal with that tree hanging over your neighbor's property.
