@johnappleseed92902 жыл бұрын
Ok so let me get this straight.. you won’t buy a car in Mexico, because your “friend” box and paper company couldn’t find workers; therefore it correlated with the way manufacturing autos in Mexico all of a sudden is a no for you? I am baffled with how ignorant that sounds. Toyota has been the big auto giant in terms of reliability since the day it was created, the workers manufacturing these cars in Mexico are held at high standards you can’t base how one company runs their business to another.

@@johnappleseed9290 I live in a border state and the quality of all products that I have used from Mexico is bad. I have a refrigerator and a TV that do not line up. The produce, cookies and crackers are bad also. The poor are not educated. Mexico does not have a middle class. Hopefully, Toyota has culled the lazy workers like they did at the San Antonio truck plant. A coworker had at least six interviews. BTW, a friend has had Taco trucks for the last 25 years, and his new one is full of plastic and he said that it does not feel like a truck. A friend has a BMW, and it has been a money pit. I bought a 2016 with the 3.5 when they came out, not sluggish if you are at 4000 rpm + but in a truck that’s awful. The auto also has two overdrives, in a 6 speed, so on the highway on the slightest grade it would have to drop two gears. I never saw higher than 17.5 mpg average even stock. That was lower than the 4runner with the 4.0 i regretfully traded. Now I have a base model f150 4x4 super crew with the 5.0 and get 19.5 avg and plenty of power

FYI - Toyota's 3.5 Liter V6, used in several models, including the Tacoma in this video, burns the valve on the #1 cylinder, and it costs approximately $7,000 to repair with the parts costing $3,800, the balance being labor. The problem seems to affect owners who baby the engine. Those who drive the car in a spirited manor, don't seem to have the issue. The most reliable engine Toyota has on the market currently is the tried and true 4.0 Liter V6 5 speed automatic, in the 4Runner.
@luisinhoens902 жыл бұрын
$7K, really? Wouldn't a head replacement solve the issue? Since valves are mounted up there, just saying. If this is true, then even a Pentastar V6 with the early valve seat and roller follower issues is cheaper to fix; a head is around $2K

I would like to reiterate that Mexico has many wonderful things coming from the hard work of it's indigenous peoples. Please be mindful of this and try not to insult the integrity of these employees and artisans who have dedicated such long hours toward the assembly of Toyota trucks and other items. They are not substandard because they are made or assembled in Mexico. That is blatant discriminatory language being used toward the wrong target. Instead look at the source, if Toyota were providing the best leadership, management, and training possible then maybe there would be less to poke fun at. Why blame the laborers?
