No wonder CYN failed and Everybody got spots on other actual promotions. Except EC3 who has ended up looking even dumber on NWA powerr. I think he actually believes all the gimmick he's created and has lost his damn mind.

I recognize Vincent from ROH and Bill Carr was on a lot of matches for Beyond Wrestling, he had a funny ass match with Orange Cassidy lol lots of DMX references. But yeah, nah, CYN is garbage, they are trying waaayyy too hard to be this dark edgy underground.

I know WWE was probably being facetious when they said they “love competition” in response to the forming of AEW. But these wrestling alternatives are a godsend because they really give you an appreciation for WWE. It’s not perfect, but at least it’s not this.

- The rules are kinda ok if they weren't so dumb. How come some matches "will go on as long as they have to" and someone end "when they hit their time"... it's confusing. Then Rule 8 "You have to fight" as we just saw Vincent stopping to let Killer Kross hit him...??? (I guess he didn't have to fight). - They should've just done them "Project Pit" where the nobody wrestlers had to do those rules to "prove themselves"... At least it would've had some sense because the first thing people ask is WHY? - The overlaid text was fine for me, some things were cool, should've been used as promos by someone though. How much better would've been if EC3 told Scotty that he was just nostalgia and if Vincent told Kross that he let him beat him up because he needed it... That's how feuds are set up, it's pretty simple imo. - I kinda like CYN even though I feel that they have some serious problems with the storytelling: you don't know why half of the things are happening or if they will have some follow up... feels like their NARRATIVE is a bit out of CONTROL.

Thank you for putting this video up. I’ve never seen a control your narrative promotion before but have heard about it. The only thing that I took away from this was “I hate Braun Stroman‘s new haircut“. I am still lost and confused about their gimmick “control your narrative“. But they have rules and moves you can’t do. To me that would counter act their whole mission statement which is “control your narrative”. Think about it. But again thank you for sharing

You picked up on one of the issues with independent wrestling. The people who own the film equipment are very rarely, almost never, the people trained to operate them. As a cost cutting measure they have the editors also shooting the shows. In general wrestling people look for the cheapest options for production and thats the beginning and end of their thought process. Edit: the names you said were random name generator names were their real names that are printed on their drivers licenses. Bill is bill and vinny is vinny.

One of the few good things about CYN is that at least their finishers are protected. You won't see finisher after finisher. That said, it looks like a low-rent version of Lucha Underground, but with less intrigue and more surface-level Fight Club stanning. Also it's amusing that they have total creative freedom yet they all picked the generic "tough guy."

Man, this really is just a bunch of edgy, pretentious faux-intellectual drivel, which has no clue if it wants to play itself straight or be tongue-in-cheek. It's too weird to attract casual fans, too standard and uninspired for hardcore fans, too overbearing for idle viewers, and too stupid for attentive ones. No substance, only the ramblings of a bunch of assholes who want to seem like they're breaking the mold, but aren't clever enough to make any interesting points or do anything especially earth-shattering. Even their attempts at publicity-baiting through edgy jokes are painfully basic. I saw someone on Reddit say this, but I feel it's extremely apt: This is the wrestling equivalent of all the edgy jerks who love Fight Club, but had the actual themes go entirely over their head. They just want to watch a bunch of angry people punch each other and think it's the greatest movie/book ever, completely unaware that the entire purpose of the material is the discussion of dissociation and fragile masculinity.

Lucha Underground had plants in the crowd and would redo shots if spots were messed up. This does seem like it's trying to be underground, but it is not as polished as Lucha Underground lol The biggest thing that jumps out for me is how they have different types of cameras with different quality of lenses filming this stuff. If all of your cameras don't match and aren't recording in the same color space, it looks amateurish. All of WWE and AEW's cameras are synced up the same so the picture quality is consistent. You can really tell that CYN has paid ZERO attention to the production side of things. They're also using hot lights instead of LED's. No bueno.
