It's a marathon, not a sprint, Levy. You can do anything you put your mind to. You will have good tournaments and bad tournaments. You are very humble, and like most of us, your harshest critic is yourself. At the end of the day, we love you, and you have already been successful in life. Remember, you have nothing to prove to anyone except yourself. We love you either way. That being said, keep up that grind. You are good enough to be a GM. I've been watching you for years. But do it for yourself. Don't do it for anyone else. You are worthy. You deserve it. Put that work in, and we are with you every step of the way. No matter where the journey takes you, most of us are just happy to be part of it.

yes ser gz, i been following your tourney. dont let it get you down, its like statistically you were going to endure a % of losses on your journey to gm, and you just happen to be experiencing a cluster, which was also inevitable. darkest before dawn etc. gl on next game. also, the fact you are enduring hardship on your journey will only make the prize feel more deserved and genuine.. if the journey to gm was easy, it would have no meaning to you. the difficulty and torment of chess is just the cost you pay to have a path of meaning.
@StrengthOfADragon13
@StrengthOfADragon13 13 күн бұрын
So, one of the most difficult parts mentally of .5/6 is that you have objective reasons to doubt yourself, but lack the time to do so practically. After the tournament you have time to evaluate what went wrong and how to improve, but when you aren't tilting it is really difficult to evaluate cleanly what you need to do to right the ship. Proud of you for doing so well at managing your mental. My biggest competitions have been in lifting, and nothing spooks me more than if I lose faith in myself. Make it through this and grow in the downtime after. I believe in your ability to make it through this and grow from it

What I truly enjoy about these recaps (other than the fact that Levy is hilarious with all the little side comments) is that he's not afraid to show his human side. He is saying out loud our own inner dialogue with honesty and integrity. It shows us that the journey to greatness is not linear and can have its set of drawbacks, and that’s ok. Go go go Levy! We’re all rooting for ya! Cheers from New-Brunswick, Canada!

I understand the pressures of running a channel and other bunch of stuff and that taking time away from your dream of becoming a GM. In life one needs to prioritize. If you say you don't have time to prepare then that basically means giving up on your long term dreams of becoming a GM. Poor indeed is a person who loses his dreams. Good luck young man.

Hey, a win's a win. You should prolly take up tennis, because the one thing that has taught me is that you need to clear your mind, don't think about the overall match, just win the point in front of you. There's a lot of the mental stuff with tennis where you have to focus on just winning the point, ignore the last point, and don't think about the next ones, and focus on making this one the best you can. You get enough points, you get the games - and enough games and you get the sets. Enough sets and you have the match. But all you have to do is just win the point. And in those matches where you are just getting destroyed, keep fighting... and celebrate those points you have won.

Keep pushing in your work ethic. Take the good and the bad from the tournament and focus on your game, preparation time, and strategy for the next tournaments you enter just to ensure you have the proper enough time to properly be both physically and mentally ready for the next one. I personally can't imagine how both grueling these tournaments are, but also the amount of data available to your opponent in terms of prepping for you where if things start going downhill early, there is so little time available during the tournament to do much about it other than grind them out and try to be more prepared next time. From what I can tell, every player thinks they could have played better and prepared better regardless of the result itself.

Very happy for you, I know you will probably not read this but the struggles you describe remind me so much of my years of billards competition where I had to learn to control and fight off my ADHD demons. Best of luck to you going forward.

The more challenging your path, the more fascinating it is to watch how you overcome difficulties! Great victories are never achieved easily; they are nurtured, struggled for, overcome, and proven! And along the way, a ton of content gets created, so a WIN-WIN situation for you and viewers!

Happy to see it! Losing a bunch is better overall, even if it's a pain to make content for. Although, I think the losing content is very compelling overall. People can win and make videos sure, but it's hard to make videos about losing and very vulnerable. Very very impressive recap videos. I'm excited to see you and coach go back over these games in detail to find what it is that when wrong and who the know levy internal enemy is Very exciting, and there's tons of opportunities

Hey Levy, great game despite your thoughts on it! That was a great coo you came up with, and just because your opponent didn’t see the way out, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good plan! No one would win if every body played perfect chess? This is a glimpse of the real Lev’s chess brain. This tournament is just a blip on your road to GM! As another person commented. It is not a sprint but a Marathon, and you just hit your first “wall”. But you will overcome it and get further along your road! Keep up the good work, you are so lucky to have Arturs in your corner. Such a great humble guy who has been where you are, so totally understands, and genuinely wants you to, and believes you can get to GM. This fan for one will be cheering you on from the U.K.!

Levy - going good man. Just go into each game "I just won 10 in a row, I'm invincible" and I think you'll rock. You hit the "escape" button quickly. Just be fearless. Trust your instincts. If they're wrong, you can judge them later. But they seem to be right most of the time - and those times they're right will secure you those critical wins. Good luck.
