The new gt neo the v2 now is an upgraded version from the v1. Upgraded grips, added pieces on the inside edge near the funky switches and changed the led on the rotary dials in the middle. I like the updates they have done. They listened to consumers. These v2 grips shouldn't wear down as much as the v1. I own a v1 my grips are fine. Wearing a bit but I don't use gloves. Have had it for like 6 months now. Its a great great budget gt style wheel. Very hard to match the quality for the price tbh. It reminds me more of 600 dollar wheels. Not a 1k dollar wheel no but still great for 300 dollars..
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
That's good to know. I'm sure the grips are something that can be resolved in new revisions, so I'm glad its been improved. I agree it doesn't touch the quality of the more niche high end wheels, but I certainly could justify the top Simagic wheel when this one was in the line up.

Also got the GT Neo to replace my Fanatec McLaren v2… needed those thumb wheels to change TC in game like the real pros 😂 Thanks for the suggestions on button assignments, really useful!
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
Yea I think its abit of a comparison for price point to that Fanatec wheel actually. That seems like the go to for most Fanatec users for a good while. I knew someone would want to ask about the button assignment, so thought best to include it haha. Glad it was helpful!

I have this exact wheel and I absolutely love it. I’ve had it 3 1/2 months and the grips show no visible signs of wear. However, I do not wear gloves so that could be why.
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
Awesome! Yea some of the online example I found were less then a month old, and I still don't see any indication of wear. Will see how it progresses.

GT Neo has really become the benchmark and go to for a reliable esports wheel recently
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
I think it hits the mark in many areas. No doubt one of those top end wheels could be on the cards in the future though haha.
@reviewforthetube6485Ай бұрын
@WHYTEPC its good, i wouldn't say insane level. Let's not over hype it now lol. Its a great budget wheel for sure. I love mine but people buying some get left dissapointed lately because they are expecting this flagship level wheel like a 1k dollar wheel the way people put it. But it's def the best budget wheel on the market. Like I was saying I believe it matches many 600 dollar wheels maybe better then most but when it comes to high end wheels of course it won't match those.

If it helps set your mind at rest, I got my GT Neo back in April. Granted I use gloves and don't have a 'death grip' but no issues with the grip material so far.
@mich5528Ай бұрын
What gloves do you recommend for this?
@reckanizeАй бұрын
@@mich5528 I like a very minimal, lightweight glove so my go to is the 100% Sling. Super comfortable and breathable. It's a mountain biking glove but perfect for my sim-racing.
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
Thank you, that's good to know. I was hopeful some people would be able to give me some idea on the grips.
@kapitan_smollettАй бұрын
that is the most comfortable wheel out of those that i tried, my only wish is that Simagic would make a version with replaceable grips. After seeing Jardier braking two of those wheels, i'll be honest i am a bit worried :) I've been using mine for 4 month now (all the time in gloves) and although there are no extreme wear on the grips, there is certainly some discoloration started to appear and grips are turning gray in some areas.
@joost1183Ай бұрын
you have specific vids? My Neo arrives late january... I saw someone in the Simagic discord do a alcantara stitch.
@reckanizeАй бұрын
A little discolouration is normal. Unless the grips are full rubber or leather, every wheel I've had does that eventually.

That's interesting bro. I had not thought to put them there. Granted I don't really play around with the TC too often. Just the emergency increase if it rains and stuck on slicks haha.

Jardier had the same wheel and he said that his grips broke off so be aware and its not like it only happened once he bought a couple of them and all off them broke off.
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
Ok so it was a grip issue for Jardier. I was first surprised to work out he had even used this wheel, as I thought he would have gotten one the top spec models. But good to know, and I will be keeping a close eye on mine.

@@Aurixxxv I still feel like that Im only just starting to scratch the surface of ACC. Im still finding pace, still have tracks I am yet to race at, and a host of endurance events that I would like to do as well. But Im highly competitive, so I think that keeps me motivated to be honest.

Would you recommend Simagic above Fanatec? looking to upgrade my setup, but there are a lot of different brands at the moment. Any tips and tricks for me?
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
I probably cant recommend one over the other to be fair. No experience with Fanatec at this stage, and when I was buying gear they were in the middle of all their company issues. But I can say that I have had zero issues with the Simagic gear, and I am super happy with all of it.
@jacksonbarinowski3966Ай бұрын
What hubs could I use for this wheel? I'm compiling a list of materials I'll need to buy for a proper setup.
@BradleySettersMotorsportАй бұрын
From what I understand of it, all wheel bases expect for Fanatec can be used. Fanatec only allows their wheels to be used, otherwise you have no FFB. But if you are looking to buy a full set up, I would totally recommend buying all Simagic gear. I have found my stuff to be great.
@masprofxАй бұрын
No doubt, the price is rigtht. However, I couldn't stand the button rattle at higher tourqe settings. Btw Bradley, you could do yourself a favour and have a look into 'real head motion' for ACC. Cheers.
