I've started getting into ACC/racing sim recently and working towards getting my license lfm. How did you manage to have your SA about 80? I don't know if it's because i did quite a few races against AI to start with and it dropped fast or if it starts you off quite low anyway. I've worked my way up to around 70 but can find it hard to get higher with public lobbies being as chaotic and/or low level as they can be.

Tricky one this as being in the 103% is rapid and competitive in most settings. I'm also in the 103% but only at two tracks.😢 I will categorise myself as beginner untill I can get in the 103% at a lot more tracks.

Yes I want to prove it everywhere right? I think a serious go at LFM season 16 is my focus, and apply myself to all the tracks. Even that scary Nordschleife! Maybe we can be beginner plus for a little while?

High end rig, gloves with your own name on, competitive lap times early on. "New to sim racing" ? 🤔
@BradleySettersMotorsport29 минут бұрын
Hey its a fair comment here. I guess my idea was 'start with the end in mind' in terms of my gear choice. I'm glad that things like the rig, do not need upgrading in the future. And the custom gloves are pretty cool right? (IMB racewear). But maybe a 10 year gap since Gran Turismo days didn't put me on the back foot as much as I thought? A 100% if the community tells me I'm not a beginner, then it wont feature again on my channel unless its to offer help to those players.

Love the videos so relateable 👍 I've probably done around 100hrs as well and was just doing laps of Spa yesterday in the Ferrari 296 in high 21's and i just feel like im on the edge and cant go quicker. Im starting to wonder if its because of my G920 bolted to my desk, my pedals held off the wall by an old printer and sitting in a swivel chair with castors removed 🤔😅 Maybe time for a sim rig?
@BradleySettersMotorsport42 минут бұрын
Honestly I feel it makes a big difference. Its pretty well talked about that all the little movements in the platform you are on, means you lose small details in the wheel feel. I went for this level of kit with the long term thinking of progression in the game. And starting with less would mean I would have to buy twice. I do not regret it at all!
@KlerikerNero2 сағат бұрын
A more important aspect to differentiate between a beginner and an advance driver is driving with other cars around you and consistency. Novice drivers tend to make mistakes sooner or later in a race especially under pressure.
@BradleySettersMotorsport46 минут бұрын
Yea this is a great point. Hopefully I'm showing progress in that area in my other videos. But that is the main focus for the next LFM season!
@RAAFLightning12 сағат бұрын
Anything under 2:19 puts you firmly out of the 'beginner' category in my opinion. Although, I would advise trying/driving some other cars than the ferrari 296, as it is so easy to drive that your actual racing skill can be kind of diminished and you'll notice this when you try a different car. I recommend trying and getting used to some different cars so when you get bored of the ferrari vacuum cleaner it will come more naturally. Heavy, power car - Mustang Light (ish), front engine, acceleration - BMW M4 Good all rounder - Mclaren 720s Wet monster - Aston V8 Vantage
@BradleySettersMotorsport47 минут бұрын
Thanks for another great comment. I think a full LFM season in the Ferrari, and bring the race craft up to the same level. But also starting to practice in other cars to help diversify the driver skill set. Sort of feels like I'm 'up to speed' now, so want to start experimenting in a few areas. Plenty to fill the next 100 hours with!
@RAAFLightning18 минут бұрын
@@BradleySettersMotorsport thats a good start, keep on grinding the lfm. the ferrari is easy to drive with other people and improve racecraft in, but just beware it is almost too beginner friendly in that you can drive like a monkey and still be fast (ish)

Doing this in hotlap mode makes no sense, that will be the base game BoP which is very different to what you'll have on any league races.
@BradleySettersMotorsport51 минут бұрын
Yes BOP will change the possible lap time of the car, making some faster and some slower. But from a driving characteristic point of view it wont change the discussion points I feel, which was the point of this test for me. Also yes, the hotlap mode is not what I would use next time. Had a great comment about using practice mode with fuel and tyre wear turned off. So that's added in the pinned comment.
@onelostsock6 минут бұрын
@@BradleySettersMotorsport Neither approach gives you a feel for the car in race trim. A better way is to use an LFM practice server, put 80 litres in, do some laps. Then RTG, go to the aero tab and change the temporary fuel load to 15 litres. Go out again on the used tyres. Then you'll have a good understanding of how the car feels at the beginning and end of a stint.
@BrisketInTexas2 сағат бұрын
Brother a 2:18.5 is a damn good lap around Spa, you should be very proud of that. If you're doing that sort of pace, I would certainly not call you a beginner. I have friends I race with frequently who are still struggling for a sub 2:19 around there. That being said there are plenty of people who can do fast times but are terrible at racing, so I guess there's more to it than just speed hahaha Very impressive improvement in a short amount of time, well done!

The Lexus has a new car thats not in the game which is probably why the old Lexus isnt used in the BOP list! The McLaren evo is a great car but you need soft rear suspension and a low rake! Its one of my favorite cars to use amd can easily get down into the 1:41's around Imola

So cool to see you starting your Journey on ACC and LFM. I started 2 months ago, bought my first 'real' Sim wheel, before i had a Logitech Momo racing for about 10 years. 😂 My new passion started by visiting the 24h of Grüne Hölle, Camping with Friends. I got absolutely hooked in Motorsports, especially GT3. I have to say that you're quite talented, my First Sessions definitely looked worse haha. But i found pace and developed some racecraft, so i got podiums on Paul Ricard, where i got my license and also Zolder, which is a favourite of mine. Looking forward to improving alongside with you and I hope we'll meet sometime for a clean, fair and fast race!

I mean, the number of followers is obviously constantly growing and the potential for a (sorry) beginners career, showing all the problems and amazing moments is really great and no doubt you have the talent to present it! At least from my point of view. Why don`t you invite the big number of beginners and amateurs to live watching your way? To grow together and have fun together? And even more - let`s race together to learn from eacht other and have fun! Well - at least I would take part immediately :) Just think about it ;) Roy
