That's actually how you do efficient tattoos in prison, but, you use a guitar string or a sharpened wire or straightened out sharpened pen spring. It has to be sharpened

You don't "sharpen" them. You pop them with a candle fire. Just pull on each side of the wire. Put it under a open flame. And pop, you have pointy wire.

tincan tony yeah my roommate and I tried that but it took a while and didn’t yield much ink. The graphite ink work a lot better and we made a good sized batch in about 10 minutes or so. We tattooed our rank on our thighs and I still have mine after 3 years 😂

@@TreyBattles you can get a hold of India ink (typical tattoo ink) in some prisons. Pen ink will work but it's not something you should aim for. Regular pen ink is not graphite but it is a carbon solution with compounds that you probably don't want in your skin. It works the same way India ink. The carbon in the ink will stay in your skin after your body metabolizes whatever it was suspended in. India ink is essentially just soot and water but pen ink contains chemical compounds including but not limited to oleic acid and alkyl alkanolamide which are solvents. I am not sure if they are dangerous for you in such small amounts, but I am certain water is used in India Ink for a good reason. Lol

My whole left shoulder was tattooed by a gun not too dissimilar to that one, in prison. The ink was made by burning a pomade candle against a metal shelf and collecting the soot. The motor was from an otherwise broken CD player and my needle was made out of the spring from inside an asthma inhaler. I've seen some INSANE work done with this same kind of setup. So yes, this is just how you do tattoos in prison.

It's funny, the only lifehack that is kind of legit is a prison tattoo gun 😂 And yes, that is actually a pretty well known way to make a tattoo gun in prison. You take the motor out of an electric razor which some prisons will allow you to have, and build it pretty much just like in this video. Yours might not have worked because it wasn't sharpened. I remember hearing somebody say that they sharpen it by grinding it into concrete in prison.

sandpaper the needle to sharpen it until it is able to pierce a plastic glove with an easy and smooth motion. and use a candle to help straighten out the string by heating it while stretching, don't overdo it otherwise it will break. and an easy and cheap way to find a motor with an offset for this is a hair trimmer as it also comes with a built-in and rechargeable battery, and for god's sake don't use ball pen ink if you don't want to get an infection or poisoning, just use India ink or proper tattoo ink. and always make sure to take good hygiene and disinfect everything to prevent infection

Ya know u gotta sharpen the tattoo needle aka the pen spring you need to use fine sandpaper or something to turn it into a needle. then itll work perfectly, they do work, some people can do better work with them than a real machine.
