It's funny because I have the opposite opinion about shells; mainly because they are annoying to cook. They are annoying to cook because: A) They tend to suction to the sides of the pot and the stirring utensil. B) They stack easily, making some noodles thicker than others, causing them to not cook evenly so you end up with some hard shells and some soft. C) If you are using powdered cheese, clumps will tend to get stuck in the shells because liquid has a harder time flowing through the noodle.
@dannyjepp985 Жыл бұрын
@@damiencarlson21If you cook in a roaring boil, the shells move around so you have to stir them less, they don't clump together and cook more evenly. If you're using powdered cheese, melt the butter in the shells first before you add the powder. I always undercook them because they'll continue to soften as the cheese rests and sets up.

I think conchiglie may have made a good contender here; the way that it retains the sauciness of the sauce (or cheese) is really quite nice. The cheese-density you mentioned with your rotini (I'd love a pasta person to explain the difference with fusilli) could have been further improved here I think. Considering that the manicotti and lasagne sheets were slightly "too cheesy", I do think that conchiglie may be slightly further up that scale, but in a more manageable way. Perhaps a good contender if you desired a more concentrated blast of the cheese.

Kraft used to (still does maybe?) have a mini-shell mac and cheese! I liked it more when I was a kid for the novelty, but I'm a mac purist and prefer the standard noodle for the balance, even over normal C-shaped macaroni. I can imagine that if you wanted cheese blasts it'd be great though!

There's this one type of pasta that my family used to use for mac and cheese, and I searched the whole basement but there wasn't any. After a google search, I found out it's called Radiatore Pasta. That's the pasta I recommend for mac and cheese since it has lots of surface area to hold the cheese while still being relatively small and easy to pick up with a fork or a spoon. Also we made it with a homemade sauce, and I recommend adding black pepper to mac and cheese, though that's just my preference.

As someone who makes extensive amounts of box mac and cheese, the Kraft spirals is the best. They hold the cheese best and tastes the greatest. Also, half the butter and add a little extra milk. How is this not main-channel content?
@DoctorNemmo Жыл бұрын
I'm starting to think he lost the password
@LordDragox412 Жыл бұрын
@@DoctorNemmo Nope, it's actually KZbin's fault. If he posts a video on his main channel that doesn't do as well as the other videos, it will tank the future income of the entire channel. That's why most creators make a secondary channel to post things that won't do as well. That's the KZbin algorithm for you (although sites like Twitch use similar systems). So, as long as he doesn't post anything on his main channel, he takes a smaller hit to his income from the old videos than if he posted a single weaker video. And KZbin really doesn't like that - you have to keep growing, or else they'll pick someone else to promote. This system keeps main channels hostage, so content creators just make secondary channels where they post things that they know won't do as well as the old stuff. Hell, some don't even return to their main channel ever due to growing fears of just not being able to live up to the standard no matter how much effort they put into a video. So even though in short-term they make less money by posting things to a channel with less subs, in long term, it's their only way to be able to earn more and more instead of less and less with the same amount of effort put into content creation. And now that you got to the end of reading all of that, you should know that I made all of it up because the algorithm is KZbin's secret and nobody really knows how it works so William probably just lost his password. /s
@DoctorNemmo Жыл бұрын
@@LordDragox412 LOL ! You got me worried for a second. In any case, the system exploits the creator and only wish well for WIlliam and his caretaker, they both deserve it. I love creative people.
@LordDragox412 Жыл бұрын
@@DoctorNemmo If that got you worried, then what will worry you more is the knowledge that I actually didn't make that stuff up. While it is true nobody knows how the algorithm works, I've summarized how many content creators described their experiences with it and the reason why they slowed or completely stopped uploads to their main channel. Of course that doesn't mean that this is the reason why William stopped uploading to his main channel, it's only one of possible explanations I could come up with based on many videos of content creators I watch who described their struggles with the beast that is the algorithm. You cannot beat the algorithm, so you either succumb to it and do it's bidding (clickbait titles and thumbnails, 8m+ vids, countless unrelated tags, not numbering videos in a series/playthrough etc.) or try to find workarounds (second channel, patreon, sponsors) to stay afloat. Many people think that being a KZbinr is a dream job, but in reality it's much more stressful and requires much more effort for way less pay than many could ever imagine. Or, at the very least, that's what the content creators I follow claim, so take that info with a grain of salt as it could be overly exaggerated. But given that over 6 people said very similar things, it's safe to assume at least some of the things they've said are true. And that paints a very, very grim picture of what a life as a content creator on KZbin truly is. And once again I'm pulling your leg. It wasn't 6 people, it was actually 7. What a trickster I am!

If you take a little bit of the water from your pasta, butter, and shredded cheese (I prefer sharp cheddar) and mix them in a sauce pan on low heat, you can get an easy home made cheese sauce. Better and Honestly easier than the powder, still better than the "easy cheese" but not as easy.

Stuff the tube noodles with regular macaroni and cheese then lay them out in a dish and cover with more cheese and baked till the top is just a little crispy. Noodle inside a noodle noodle ception

I would assume most people either starch the hat or put a piece of cardboard in it, but I like your style William.

should have tried conchiglie or however it's spelled- it's the lil shell-shaped ones that would act like a lil bowl for the cheese so like you'd bite into it and it'd just be an explosion of cheese in your mouth

I think watching an engineer individually separate a variety of noodles from the same boiling pot on youtube says a lot about who I am.

Pro Tip from a construction worker, rather than wasting money on an ER visit, just use neosporin and super glue for stitches on deep finger cuts.

Thanks for the handy trick for keeping it up. I'll try that next time.

When I was a kid, my friend showed me how to make mac and cheese with ramen noodles (obviously not using the flavor pack) and once cooked throw in some butter and melt in some kraft cheese slices. Probably the best mac and cheese i've ever had.

Radiator pasta mac is my favorite. Stirs the best, cheese gets inbetween the flaps without being overwhelming, fun shape :3
