Peter Lyons was making swords for re-enactors before the movies. When he got the gig and produstarted, my older re-enactment buddies say swords became almost impossible to buy because Weta bought so many for LOTR extras there was not enough supply for demand amd prices sky-rocketed. A friend commissioned Peter to make a sword but he didn't have time as he signed on with Weta pretty much at the same time, but years later they got in touch and Peter made the sword and I have been lucky enough to see it. It is exquisite. Looks like you had a blast and this is so cool that you got to get hands on in the workshop.

Watching the content provider talk about how young he was when the movie studio's craftsman was working on this movie's swords reminded me of the opening scene for 2011's movie Battle Los Angeles where the older guy gets passed 9n his daily run by a bunch of younger guys.

Fantastic lotr gold, when you purged the blade it reminded me of a scene from the movie. Thought at first from Isangard one of the orc smiths. Then the orc in Frodos vision of the scouring.
