I'm glad you call out people keeping wildlife in bad situations even if the ultimate outcome should be euthanasia. People really need to be aware of the reality of keeping wild animals as though they are pets, especially if they are hurt and/or suffering. Your videos are great because although they are normally fun and entertaining you show the less pretty side of things that people really need to be aware of and I'm happy you embrace that. Thank you Uncle Skibidi Ben
@dumupad3-da2414 ай бұрын
It is possible that the animal is in pain, it probably needs treatment - and the woman did apparently try to get it treatment - but I find it hard to believe that it is impossible to treat it so as to eliminate the pain so that the only solution is euthanasia. I suspect that the idea is simply that it can't survive in the wild with its leg broken like this, but that doesn't mean that it can't live in captivity. I certainly don't think that it is better for a wild animal to be dead than to be kept 'as though it were a pet'.
@vixianas88273 ай бұрын
@dumupad3-da241 He's explained in another video why euthanasia might be the only option for some animals, depending on how bad the injury is. Broken leg could take a very long time to heal. A deer that's constantly walking and running.. Panicking as soon as they wake up from anesthesia to a cast on their leg. They'd hurt themselves even more. There's also no guarantee it would heal properly. It's also just extremely expensive to treat one deer.. Realistically, it's not worth it. This happens allll the time with rehabilitation. Not just deer. Horses are even more common to be put down.
@apolloandwarrior_322912 күн бұрын
@@dumupad3-da241 pretty big difference in treating a broken leg in a human, a dog, and a deer. A human you can explain everything to and they'll understand. And generally they Don't panic just being around other humans. Dogs and cats do just fine since they tend to trust humans. Give them some love and comfort and trick the, into taking pain meds, and they'll be fine. Wild deer are terrified of humans and die easily because of stress. They can die just from being contained in a facility that smells like humans or predator animals. They are also wild animals so even if you tried this, you'd realistically have to keep them doped up on pain meds and the like. This may be different for farmed deer, but in general, wild deer do not want to be anywhere near humans or dogs. There's another channel that rescues and rehabs wild animals in the UK. When called to deer, they have to think and meticulously plan their rescues and work extremely quickly so the deer don't die.

@dumupad3-da2414 ай бұрын
I don't see how she caused its suffering, she didn't break its leg. Also, I find it hard to believe that euthanasia is necessary. Broken legs can be treated. Why, deer with broken legs even sometimes survive for a long time in the wild without any treatment. It should be possible to at least eliminate whatever pain there is and keep it alive in captivity, even if it doesn't become capable of surviving in the wild.
@TBFjourney4 ай бұрын
@dumupad3-da241 that fawn's leg is fucked. Letting it try to walk around on that leg is bringing it closer and closer to having a break that cannot be healed. If she was reaching out to Ben for free vet services it's likely she won't pay for a vet to treat it and the fawn will stumble around in pain until it gets an infection and dies. Not to mention many exotic vets will confiscate illegally obtained animals and send them to animal control who will just euthanize them. So she did not break its leg, but her refusal to give up the fawn does prevent it from getting care. And unless she can get prescription pain killers and learn to set a leg, that deer will more likely than not die in pain.

HEY UNCLE BEN!! Quail rely on a habitat type that is most easily maintained with low intensity high frequency burns, it is a natural habitat for them to live in so if you can make the area where they will be more similar to a landscape that would be created this way, you should definitely make sure to do that. Obviously burning in an enclosure is dangerous so I dont recommend that. I do recommend mowing and mulching the larger vegetation so that the dominant plants are tall grasses with sparse shrubs.
