There several soup kitchens that feed the homeless regularly in the downtown area. They usually give food to whomever that comes, including the less fortunate and not homeless. It's really difficult to be selective. Homeless in Malaysia are mostly locals, with the exception some rohingyas women and children begging on the street, they may appear homeless but they're not. They're pawns of the soliciting syndicate. Homeless here like many other places (the US as well )mostly stemmed from mental illness, inability to hold a job, drug/family problems. Some actually have a home but choose to be 'outside'. I don't think we have the type of homeless due to the economic fallout, stuffs that is happening is the States; one day you're a white collar professional and the next day you got laid off, and next thing you know you're on the street. Malaysia has not gotten there yet.

The 5th floor has more tenants than the 4th floor, probably because of the superstition around the number 4, especially among Chinese people. It’s kind of like how the number 13 is avoided in the US. Sometimes, malls even skip the 4th floor entirely and label it as 3A instead. You can see it in this building actually. Look at the lots number.

Hi Ben , the reason why you feel alert and have the feeling that your brain is sharp is because on day 3 of fasting you turned into burning ketones instead of glucose , basically using fat instead of glucose and the brain love ketones . You are in a ketogenic state . Lots of good things happen then . If you when to know more about it you should read Dr. Jason Fung ;-) maybe you did already . Anyway keep up the good vibes my friend
@benfishermin3 ай бұрын
Yea for sure. I only eat a carnivore/keto/pkd style diet so I would imagine my body is in this state most of the time. But since I fell off for 2 weeks and was eating carbs (only from fruit, veg, coconut milk, some nuts), it made the first few days of the fast rough. Typically I transition from carnivore into a fast and it's completely smooth, not this time 😂 I'm on day 6 now. At this point it has put me in quite a strong state of consciousness, almost euphoric.
@benfishermin3 ай бұрын
Thanks I'll look into Dr. Jason Fung. I recently discovered Dr Zsofia Clemens talking about the PKD diet (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYi3lGNof8SCbdU) which I thought was really interesting. I've had severe autoimmune issues for a long time and I've recovered in a big way due to eating carnivore. Long-term I'd like to transition into more of the PKD style where I add in small amounts of certain tolerable veggies. Hopefully one day I can tolerate fruit again too.

Ben, you should try cupping. It removes your old blood so your body can produce new ones. In Malay it's called 'bekam'. There are Bekam Spas around the city

"removes your old blood" Don't simply tembak, go check proper info first.
@JosephLim-gc8tu3 ай бұрын
yes Ben don't do cupping.it is nonsense.there is no medical or scientific evidence that cupping is beneficial or good for your health.be careful.don't believe everything that people tell you.
@benfishermin3 ай бұрын
Cupping may be beneficial if you have very tight fascia causing pain, some people do get relief, but this could also be placebo. There's a lot of pseudoscience and scammy misinformation around it though. There is certainly no evidence that it removes your old blood to produce new blood, cure diseases, etc.

Try fasting for 30 days...
@benfishermin3 ай бұрын
Have you done a 30 day fast? Very curious to hear about your results from that. Given my autoimmune issues it would be beneficial for me to fast as long as I can really. I will likely shoot for 10 days this time.
@alinasimon63993 ай бұрын
@benfishermin yup..every year during ramadhan all Muslims fast fir 30 days. We refrain from eating, drinking, no sex or lustful or sinful thoughts from the start of fajar or sun in the morning to sundown. I find it to be very invigorating process. Physically n spiritually cleansing. It's humbling, too for through the thirst n hunger, we can understand n sympathise with the poor n needy. It's a way to deepen our relationship with Allah n with humanity. Just try it since you're already on a week. Just continue n hopefully you'll gain deeper understanding of our body, ourselves. Salam.

I have never liked the idea of giving people money or food, although I still do it. It is always better to help them find a job or encourage them to start a small business even if it is hawking. I have a guy in my neighborhood, that started off selling flowers on the street corner. Today he has expanded to four or five streets, and has dozens of people working for him. On the other hand we have able bodied men panhandling at the same area. That is why LA has the most homeless people on the streets on earth. I may sound cruel but that is my opinion.
@yukai52833 ай бұрын
It is prohibited by the law that homeless beg for something in Japan. Commonly, organizations give them foods. So me and them are totally separated. To my knowledge, Muslims do “Ramadan fasting” to realize the situations for under-privileged people. I suppose that homeless who live in KL feel free comparing with Japanese.
