Like your stuff, especialy the fact no music to drown out the natural sounds in the woods...

I agree with the no music. Thumbs up. Unfortunately most noises in that place were leaf blower, mower, plane, cars, and a deer blowing.

Can you believe that our dear Grandson had no distant relatives that we can trace that were hunters, not his granddads on either side of the family , except his maternal g-dad did some fishing as did his Dad when Jonnie was young but other than that, he was born to be a hunter & a fisherman, he's alsoi a walking encyclopedia when it comes to nature. A little jealous that you found white oaks dropping. Most of the white oaks around here were zapped by the mid-April freeze, but there are isolated pockets that have a tree or two dropping. I found way more northern red oak, southern red oak, and chestnut oaks dropping, but as you know those are lower preference acorns. I was planning to go hunt a flat that I know has chinkapin oaks on it, but got sideswiped by CoVID and all my hunting is on hold for now.

Several years ago I watched a buck follow my scent trail, nose to the ground, for over 150 yards, all the way to within 5 yards of me before he saw me. I was wearing rubber boots, scent lock suit, scent spray, clothes and boots in a scent free container to hunting spots, and changed outside vehicle. And I'd walked in around 8 hours earlier. Just throwing that out there.

Work on cover up scents. Alot homemade earth scents you can make to rub all over clothes and rubber boots if your budget is low or buy the more expensive chemicals to eliminate the oder but that's still not 100% guaranteed. Hard to beat the nose of the whitetail deer. Keep it up bud and good luck and safe hunting.

@@strikeforcek9149 I use regular soap and regular laundry detergent and smoke cigarettes in my stand and tag out every year too. I also hunt in Florida which is by far one of the toughest states to hunt. I just play the wind and hunt the best areas I have available to me.

@@timprill242 Same here (except I take a scent free shower prior to going out, mainly because I usually smell like oil and gasoline from restoring boats at my shop) but I definitely smoke in my stands and even smoke still hunting lol. That big doe I starched last week, I had a cigarette literally hanging out of my mouth I just lit like 3mins before she came across. I'm in a HUGE pressured area, because of all the jackwads that live around me traipsing through their woods like idiots 24/7 and overhunting. They turn nocturnal in our areas and it takes a lot to really try and figure em out once they start adapting up the neighbors farms. Lol
