Some fun, great value goblins. The Ambush sets for Kings of War can be even better, the Ogre box can build 6 Ogres AND 20 of these Goblins. Oh, and I think the cleaver sword with the ring pommel at 2:25 is intentional. There's a big variety of different shields and weapons, lots of them obviously looted from other KoW factions!

Agreed, the ambush boxes are such great deals. Very hard to beat with how many miniatures you get in each.

Recently I also came across a Mantic box called Green Rage for their Dungeon Adventures game, which is essentially made D&D, with 9 greenskin models in total that all look unique and, apart from the small goblin swarm, could easily serve as bosses.

Literally my only complaint is I like it when my green skins are more bare chested, makes em' feel a bit more ragtag but, these are great sculpts, well painted
@manuellaslo12825 ай бұрын
they realy look good. for the rust: try to put the rust on places where the metal would not get touched that often and where it would have more contact with water or other wet objects. for example: rust on the edge of a blade does not makes so much sense, when the weapon is in use. but rust on the spot, where the wood of a spear is conected with the meatal tip would look better. you also could try to thin down the rust effect color a bit more, so the paint behaves more like a wash and gets easier into the deeper parts of the model, where more rust would be found.

100% I've got the Abyssals, Orcs and undead all for D&D. Only problem is their metal minis tend to need pinning vs just super gluing but on the whole, love em. Nightstalker army look full of great minis for D&D too.

I did notice a few metal minis among the range when looking so its good to have that info incase I pick some up.

@padraigmumper69566 ай бұрын
Great video! I haven't bought any kings of war miniatures myself but their newish ambush boxes look like a great deal, for about the same price as a standard box of their infantry you get twice as many infantry or some big monsters
@Painted4Combat6 ай бұрын
Yeah! Their Ambush and Regiment boxes look great overall.

I would reccomend the Vanguard set over the Ambush set for D&D purposes. you more kinds of goblins instead of just melee dudes and a Warmachine that you get in the ambush box.

Dunno If someone mentioned it before, but mantic Games also Had the Dungeon adventures Line, boxes With some Minis in a specific scheme, Like Green Skins, Heroes, Dungeon Bosses etc. I like the minis from mantic, my favorite is the Elf Prince. 😋 Other good minis are the Frostgrave wizard Minis from north star, 8 minis and alot options, for a ok price, bought the male and female versions.

Kings of War minis are great for bulk enemies. However, it's worth knowing that the plastic used for them tends to be fairly brittle. It's more of an issue for older kits, or thinner models like undead skeletons, but over time, you may find yourself regularly re-glue weapons, arms and even whole models that have broken off just from casual use. A lot of their newer and chonkier kits don't have much of an issue with this. If you game with other people who aren't used to handling delicate miniatures and are more gorilla-handed, you'll also have frequent breaks. That being said, Mantic is an awesome company constantly improving their process and models. I just bought a Ratkin Warriors box for an encounter I'm running in my game soon. Well worth the reasonable price-per-model if you can manage with the fragility issue.
@Painted4Combat6 ай бұрын
Good to know! Luckily my D&D Table are pretty careful with the minis so hopefully I don't get too many breaks, but time will tell!

Kings of war not always "great" but this kit is excellent. Reel goblin spirit in it ! Thank you.

Can do! I will endeavor to do this in the future. For the ones I mention here, most of them are all brands that you can get from your local game store, so just giving them a google should show your best options, but I will aim to add in their official websites in future uploads. But the ones mentioned in this video are: Mantic Games: Kings of War (the goblins shown here) GamesWorkshop: Warhammer 40k & Age of Sigmar Wizkids: D&D Official Minis Archon Studios: Dungeons and Lasers

I have some of these minis (I'm a big fan of Mantic) and agree with all you say about them 😊 Like your paint job too although (on my teeny Tablet screen) the 'rusting' looks overdone. Liked and Subscribed and thank you for an interesting and inspiring video 😊

They are called mawpups they are used as markers in game to show the unit has a mawpup to be unleashed. I collect them and the goblin sprue has weapons and gear from other Pannithor races. Circle bases you monster lol

Are these 18 or 32 mm scales? Nice paintwork by the way
@Painted4Combat6 ай бұрын
Pretty sure they're 28mm - I only have their Goblins for now, so I dont have a 'human sized' model to compare to a GW or WizKids for you atm unfortunately. I've seen some comparisons online saying their Skeletons are pretty similar in size to GW undead, so take that for what you will. 😊

Yes. Mantic make some amazing minis. Just don't buy their really old stuff. The stuff made from their old resin / plastic hybrid material is awful. But their modern hard plastics and resin stuff is great!
@Painted4Combat6 ай бұрын
Good to know! Will keep an eye out for that
@Caranamon6 ай бұрын
I can second that. I had the old two-player Box (Orcs vs. Undead). The models weren`t good and the plastic horrible to work with. But they improved greatly in quality over the years and only increased the prices a little bit.
