When comparing pickups, play the same parts on both pickups back to back. It makes it much easier to compare versus playing 2 different parts of the same song.

Ohms is not a measurment of output....it's a measurement of resistance in the coil.
@Cobalt9857 ай бұрын
I mean you're right, but it doesn't really matter in this context because lower resistance here does mean higher output. He's doing an apples to apples comparison of very similar pickups so here, that's fine, even though it's technically wrong.

No one gives output measurements because it's inherently inconsistent to measure. So what do you propose we do? Impedance hopefully tells us how much wire we're working with so it's better than nothing!

Aced the test 👏🤯. The smoothness of that DP with overdrive gave it away. That chunky neck sound is the issue with one tele of mine, but is solved in my Nashville Tele. The Strat was slightly thinner. It’s crazy how attuned our ears can become over time to a certain sound profile.

I find those pickups to bright! Prefer a warmer fuller sound. I like pickups that rock like strats. The Fender Tex-Mex is fuller sounding. See reviews on youtube. You will like it unless you like bright type of sound, chicken picking type of the 50's. I found that harsh to the ear and would use tone control to warm it. With 250K pot + .047uF cap. Brighter with 500K - .022uf combo. The lower the cap, the brighter the sound. The higher the pot also brighter sound. There is a lot of room for experimentation! Thanks for your excellent reviews. Good work. 😊

I got the hot vintage alnico 3 set, it's like 10 ohm in the bridge, 8 in the neck. The 3 has less out put so I still get a decent chime in the bridge and the neck is jazzy. The key is to get the ash body for this vintage sound. It's true single coil.
