The secret hidden cameras aren't really that creepy. They're actually really good to have in many situations. There are many cases of kids bringing them to school to get proof of harassment or bullying, and since they look inconspicuous, it's easy to get the evidence they need.

I'm watching one Japanese YT channel that does lots of food/vending machine stuff and they explained that these mystery boxes are overpriced and creepy on purpose so people won't buy them and they are supposed to be saved for bad times. If some natural disaster etc happens, the owner will switch their vending machines to be "free" and the goods will be distributed to the locals. *flies away*

Oh my god! When the title said "The creepiest vending machine in Japan", I knew right away where you were going XD A friend brought me there, too, and when he went 'inside' to see the rest of the vending machines I was almost too scared to follow him. There were weird signs outside the place that freaked me out ("If you use the bathroom here, I'm going to record it and print out your picture and post it for everyone to see!"). I thought the boxes were little packets of books, and the notes were hints about what kinds of books they would be (日本には、ばかと阿呆と天才が少なすぎる). I thought wrong. Next time, I will buy one! Maybe!

I think I know what those boxes are. They could be stories of snippets of each persons' life. Sort of like snippets of private diaries. Usually those that pay to read it usually get a small gift from the author as a thank you for taking the time to read it.

Very Cool, I happen to like the nostalgia of vending machines, to me if I may, there is a lot in the "feel" of choosing an selection, for unlike a grocery store you can not change your mind, you can add to your decision however there is no turning back; and then there is the feel of the item you chose to pick coming towards you, time to prepare yourself, then your selection is ready, all the time spent finding a choice and making a choice has now accumulated and now it is time to keep what you decided to buy, I could take a ton of money Sharla, a bag and just go vending machining all day long, and the beautiful part in my opinion is you will never run out of vending machines to select from, I'ma come visit you!
