I found the Nature strip on my way home, and it was getting bad.

When I see people edging these sidewalks, where the soil and grass is so high compared to the sidewalk, I wonder why no one fixes the source of the problem like we used to in "the old days." We would carefully fold back the sod at the edge, and dig out some of the dirt underneath, about a foot in, so the ground sloped below the sidewalk. That way, routine mowing was all that was needed. I remember doing this in many houses we lived in, when I was a kid, and helping my grandfather do it at his house, too. Have you ever known anyone to fix the problem this way?

@miriamrighter1666 I’ve done exactly what you’re speaking about on several occasions…if there’s is a lot of dirt and grass growing on the concrete then it’s pretty much the only way to completely get it cleaned up…

I might give it a try one day I always wonder how to fix such problem, I am still new to all the grass cutting thing, just over 3 months. Thanks for the idea
