it's not the legal system at fault this time, her lawyer is required to give her the best advice and representation possible and he fulfilled that by laying out to her in clear terms what she was facing and the possible disadvantages to her and gave her a choice. Yes, it is frustrating and unfair, but if he didn't do this and took on a case that the odds against her means he might certainly lose or might damage her to a greater degree than she could cope with or recover from then he would be a really bad lawyer.

#1 - This an unfortunate example of why women don’t always come forward. Often the victim faces repercussions when they’re not in the wrong at all. This isn’t uncommon.
@Norinia2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I was told for years to shut up and take it by teachers who were supposed to protect me, that my parents would hate me if they knew When I finally worked the guts to tell my parents (obviously, they do not hate me) I was 18, so constantly told it was too late it was too late it was too late. I just got a look at a law recently, and it said the harshest age limit for reporting rape and sexual abuse in the country is 23 in NY. I don’t live in NY, so I tried asking my case managers for help. Guess what, constantly ghosted, and legal advice I tried to find on Reddit said anything I tried would be slander (I wanted to at least write on the school’s website review what happened, because the teacher that allowed and forced the incident to happen still works there, as a venerated member) There just isn’t any justice for victims of rape and sexual assault. They demand ‘proof’, and often there’s only circumstances that don’t line up. The monster only did it because they knew they could hide it easily, that they had access to rip up records easily. It still sickens me with what happened to MeToo. It could have been a chance for real victims to be heard, for things to be fixed (I’m sure it would have cleaned society up pretty good) but instead, people who love stirring shit up threw in countless lies, to the point real victims were being thrown in with them, further assaulting them for daring to come forward (I had a sense to stay out, deleted the post I had been about to type in. It still hurt being right about something I had hoped would help, if that makes any sense) All we can do now a days is seriously encourage kids to speak up immediately and loudly when it happens, that their loved and not a damn second of it is/was their fault. Still nothing to help women the second they cross the age barrier.

Find out laws for workplace retaliation and sue the hospital for even suggesting that they’ll punish you. Publicize the ENTIRE crime (thru the lawyer) in interviews (name names, hospital, and school!) so the entire community knows to no longer trust them! The slime will stick to them forever and yes, they may retaliate BUT by filing criminal charges first that may end up biting them all in the butt later. @@ryandylan6946 I appreciate your optimism, but sadly there is nothing unrealistic about this story. First off, there have been thousands of men who have done this. I agree that no man with any kind of morals or soul would do it, but the problem is that there are so many evil people in the world. There are countless documented cases of husbands sharing nudes of their wives or filming them without consent. Even what comes to Korea's Nth room (it's a very dark case so research it only if you can handle it), 260 *thousand* men shared illegally acquired nudes of their wives, daughters, nieces, sisters, etc in order to gain access to a group chat where to consume CP. And this was all verified by authorities. Sharing those nudes was a part of the price of admission. There are monsters out there that will absolutely do things like this and there are hundreds of thousands of these monsters out there. If you start looking into stories about s3xual content being shared illegally, you'll find a never-ending list of tragic cases. And also this type of thing can and will ruin a woman's career. Again, it's been documented that women have lost their careers, families, friends, and future because of things like this, and some even lost their lives by their own hand. The lawyer in this story was just telling her the truth: people are going to treat her like shit if this comes to light. They'll shame her, lose respect for her, gossip about her, and especially people at work will give her a hard time because they'll be terrified of losing their jobs. If her extra water bottles were 16oz each, added to his 24oz container? He went through around 100oz of water by the time they reached the peak. Or approximately 3 liters! Her water pack alone was 3 liters, and keeping in mind that she had a liter left at the peak, it speaks a lot to his ‘experience’ with hiking. She’s definitely NTA, and he was in no danger of anything beyond needing to find a boulder to pee behind. Hope she leaves the man-child alone, nobody needs that kind of drama.

(Since then I think some have been passed) she started because of the hell her daughter went through and how much it destroyed her. She shared a story about one of the revenge porn group she kept an eye on. They had started a count down for a picture release of a woman who worked as a teacher for grade level schools, except they weren't real. They were pictures that they had edited her face on. I don't even think any of them knew her, but she had caught their attention. So they dropped the photos and sent them to everyone in her life she could as well as her contact information. The main woman, once seeing the drop and the included phone called the teacher to offer support. By the time she called the teacher the woman was in the school parking lot without a job and getting messages from people both to question and harass her. I think it had also been sent to parents in the area so she basically couldn't work with kids anywhere she lived, despite being what her job training was.

The best thing she and the partners of the p0rn sharing perverts can do is look out for their own interests, which for OP means furthering her career in medicine. It's a horrible reality and shouldn't happen ever, this is why we need to talk about these things and bring attention to them so women in medicine won't have to suffer the same as OP

Story 1: Good attorney. He is telling you correctly. It is his job to look at a situation from ALL angles so you are not blindsided in court. He is being realistic about what could happen and laying it out there for you to make an informed decision. What he said may be harsh but it is the truth and a good attorney pursues the truth. You have a case for a lawsuit, but your opponents WILL dig anything they can so you do not win the case. I want to tell you to fight this case, but sometimes some battles are not worth fighting. Yes you are right. Yes you have a case. But hospitals and the medical profession will throw ANYONE under the bus to protect their reputation. What you can do is get established in your career first THEN pursue a lawsuit.

If it was *just* her affected, maybe. That boyfriend and the other guys involved deserve to be in jail and blacklisted from the industry they work in. If the hospital fires you, then sue the hospital for wrong firing. Hi Mark, love your videos. Story 3: so I'm also an eagle scout who has been on hot hikes in the mountains. A couple times I ran out of water. I disagree with that last comment because it was routine for us to have 3-5 Liters of water for us to stay hydrated, meaning 3 bottles of water wasn't enough. That being said ESH but barely. He's too egotistical to realize he's not THAT guy. As much as it would've sucked, she should've postponed the hike all together. Honestly a talk needs to be had about compatability. One also needs to be had that if she's the expert, he needs to listen.

@raywhite71792 жыл бұрын
This is why it's an ESH. As an avid hiker myself, it's fucking clear that the dude knew nothing about hiking. Any regular or even semi-regular hiker knows about water in the desert. You don't have to have experience in the desert to know this. This is a general hiking issue. Water is hiking 101, even in the forest. Everyone asks about this. People put it in reviews. "plenty of water on this hike!" The moment some supposed hiker comes to me and says "oh, I have so much experience. I never worry about water." is the moment I think "this person is full of shit." She did this to prove a point and this could've gotten him hurt/killed, her hurt/killed, and possibly whomever had to rescue them hurt/killed. She KNEW better and went anyway. That's where the assholery comes in. If your friend is drunk, you're not going to let that friend drive drunk just because he's "always done it" just to prove how ridiculous the notion of drunk driving is and you certainly wouldn't get in the passenger seat to watch it go down.
@mzgreenjeansapproves2 жыл бұрын
@@raywhite7179 I disagree with the ESH. The best case scenario would be for OP to cancel the hike because boyfriend was underprepared with no drama and perhaps a sheepish apology from him. That's the ideal. What is close to reality is OP sees his lack of proper hydration and cancels the hike. Boyfriend states he knows what he is doing argues and does the hike ANYWAY to prove a point. OP would still have to go after him and still give him her extra water and he still would try to SNEAK her water and STILL storm off and leave her there. Boyfriend is a grown man what more could have OP done?
@raywhite71792 жыл бұрын
@@mzgreenjeansapproves If she had tried to cancel the hike, she would've said so. There's no gain for her to lie about that. Therefore, she's an asshole. Both behaved badly. Both are assholes. You come prepared and you don't put others in danger. If you do, you're an asshole. That's a simple fact. To be perfectly honest, her story doesn't add up anyway. No one in their right mind (who was a decent hiker) would've allowed this hike to happen and I, personally, have a water bladder. I can't figure how he was trying to sneak water from her. The hose sneaks through your backpack and the nozzle loops through your bands to rest on your chest/by your mouth. That's the point of them. He'd've had to grab it, unwind it, etc. right in front of her without her noticing? I dunno. Sounds fake.
@mzgreenjeansapproves2 жыл бұрын
@@raywhite7179 hmmm I am not a hiker so I can't verify what type of hydration equipment is best. As a person who exercises in a controlled environment my perspective is not from an experienced hiker. I come from the perspective of trying to convince a know-it-all that they in fact don't know everything. So it rang true to me emotionally, (also as a city girl who has a water bottle and many readily available sources like the cafe in the gym) but if it doesn't ring true to experienced hikers then it probably isn't.
@raywhite71792 жыл бұрын
@@mzgreenjeansapproves It's just something that makes drinking easier. The bladder sits in your backpack, with a loop up top or a little sticky thing that keeps it in place. There's usually a little hole up top of the backpack where you thread the tub. It goes around your shoulder, usually through a loop on one side and then crosses your chest and through another loop. So there's like three loops it goes through and the nozzle is close to your head so you don't have to stop when hiking. Basically, it's right there by your neck in your front. I can't see a scenario where someone could steal sips without you knowing, unless you had your eyes closed. It's just, water is a big freakin' deal, especially in the desert. No hiker worth their salt would go in with a tiny bit of water and no experienced hiker would accompany another who didn't bring a sufficient amount of water. Water is heavy. You bring enough for yourself, unless there's a water source. If you're hiking with someone who isn't bring enough, you know you're going to have to share with them. These places are isolated and most don't have cell service. People die from hiking each year, especially in the desert. You don't place yourself in danger to prove a point. I'm all for letting someone fall on their face if they want to make fools of themselves, but not in a desert and not where I could potentially get myself hurt (water makes people do crazy things. If he got crazed enough, he could've hurt her for her water.) And she said she knew better.

Okay, after some digging I found a final update to story 1 (camera story) thanks to a commenter on this thread. I’ll try to paste it here - hopefully it won’t exceed any word limits… “I just want to say thank you to the many people and lawyers who reached out to me in regards to my previous post and I’m sorry for the very late update. I’ve been in therapy and working with lawyers to resolve issues. I was able to get the proof I needed for filing police reports but I decided not to do it. We worked an agreement out where I am financially set up for a long time from the group of men as a whole. My medical school is paid for, I’m being given a very nice living stipend monthly, and a few other things my lawyer was able to push for that will help me a lot in the future. Including a new job placement.This is all being done privately. I know this may disappoint many of you because you wanted me to raise hell and fight for women but mentally I couldn’t handle pressing charges or having the things shown that I know are recorded. There are things in our agreement to protect me and my privacy and if any video is seen again then it voids everything in the agreement and then I’ll press charges and go to the police. All of their wives and partners know now. None of them wanted to go forward which really swayed how I went about it. I wasn’t only going to fighting against them but their spouses and I didn’t want to ruin their children’s lives by their moms and dads videos and business possibly being outed to the world in a nasty courtroom. They shouldn’t be punished for their dads decisions. That’s really it for the update. I am okay with what has been done and I can go forward with my career goals without worry of a reputation that wrongly would have been there. TL;DR I’m not pressing charges but I didn’t deal with the matter in a private way that benefited me as much as it could. ETA: I just want to add. I know some of you think I’m selfish and a horrible person for what you believe is not protecting future women. But that’s not my fault. Apart of the agreement was hefty quarterly donations to multiple womens protection programs including DV shelters and other programs of my choosing. I can’t protect future women from being violated. Significant jail time for these people wasn’t even in the question. They’re still being punished. Way more than they would have if I had pressed charges. Over a million dollars a year being shelled out by the group. Before you comment, think of some of your previous comments about how I would be ridiculed in court, and then think about what you say about what I believe was justice for myself. I am receiving justice in the way I can handle it without completely destroying the state of my mental health. If you want to ridicule that so be it. But the justice system wouldn’t have done it any better. I’m not going to burn myself and my future”

Thanks for the Update! Reads like scince fiction book from a woman activist group to push their agenda and blame all man as evil. I thought the story was normal fiction, now i am sure they have an agenda and wanna send a message. As a man i am 100% sure story 1 is manhating fiction. A bunch of "Coworkers" sharing pron vids of "wifes, gf , and fiancees? Normal man never ever show her nude wife to another man, that makes us instant jealous and the blood starts to boil. I even hate it when some dude looks to lo long on her bikini. There is no brocode to do that, not even members of the mafia would do that! No way S1 is real and that the other woman are all ok with that. 100 % Never. And then a lawyer instead of pressing charges at the Police, come on. Police would have confiscated all devices and all the idiodts were in serious trouble and the wifes had and easy divorce and a safe job. If she goes to the police there is no danger. She can't lose her job without repercussions to her job because that's called retaliation and judges rip those cases a new one on the bosses who fire people like that. And as a bonus police would delete all vids and took the man in prison.

Thank you for posting this update. I really can’t say I blame her. Losing her ability to pursue her career that she worked so hard for and being doubly victimized in court and in the court of public opinion is not something everyone can handle. People (including women) can be extremely vicious towards victims.
