I am only human :P Yes I have gained weight in the last year and i wasnt in a good place until now to try and lose it. I will be documenting this 2nd mini weight loss journey on this channel and im so excited! Also a lot of people are saying i dont need to lose weight, and that i look fine the way i do and thank you for your opinion but in no way is it unhealthy for me to want to get back to where i felt super confident and comfortable with myself. I am not doing anything in an unhealthy way and its tiring hearing people say that if you want to lose weight you dont love yourself or are doing something restrictive. I just want to be a bit more lean and toned, thats all, i am aiming for a healthy weight and in a healthy way :)

I would never have guessed you even gained weight! You look so great! I bet a lot of it is muscle weight. Thanks for sharing this! It will keep me motivated. I’m stuck right now and not losing weight but also trying to detox and that’s my main focus... I don’t weight myself. Just go by how clothes fit. I am 1 size up from where I want to be. Maybe 1/2 size up... depends on the day lol

But promise to take care of yourself, will you? Bodies and ancient brain parts tend to find weight loss within normal BMI quite scary and stressful. If you feel resistance, don't try to break through but find a self-loving way to deal with it. I'm really excited about your journey and interested in how you will experience it!

I have mixed feelings. Hannah seems to be really hard on herself frequently. Obviously her channel is focused on health and weight loss through a plant based diet, but I've always had this feeling that she's had a bit too much of a fixation on weight loss and numbers. On the other hand, I totally support her decision to be the best version of herself physically so she can feel more comfortable. But the way she talks about it...sometimes seems a little off to me.

This whole video is so unhealthy, no matter how much she justifies it by saying that she is "doing it to feel better not to look better". She's at a healthy weight and her thought process is clearly that of someone with an eating disorder. Hannah, I really don't mean to be harsh but you look healthy and beautiful, and I urge you to look for happiness in places other than the scale, because no matter how much smaller that number gets, you won't find it there.

I used to be this skinny person who did lots of sports and had tons of energy. Then I hurt my back and had to quit but I was still skinny, just got some curves that’s all. I’m 5 5 and I was 126 pounds. Until I burned myself out severely and slept for 18-32 hours straight for 6 months. After that I still struggled with exhaustion and I could barely leave my house. I didn’t have energy to cook food or go for walks. I had a lot of struggles wrapping my head around being this active, perfect girl who traveled the world and did everything right to being stuck in my bed, sleeping my life away. I ate my feelings and gained about 45 pounds. I couldn’t look at the scale after 33. I’ve started feeling better and I’m eating vegan plant based as much as I can and I go on tons of long walks. I’m doing all I can with the energy I have and I’ve lost about 20 pounds. I still have like half to go but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

I gained 15 lbs over the past year (130 lbs 5'5" currently), but I actually think I look a lot better now! My face is filled in more, so it makes me look younger. I often get told I look like I'm in my early 20's, but I just turned 33 =) I'd like to tone my belly a bit, but besides that I'm happy. I used to be so obsessed with staying under 120 lbs, what a horrible way to live. If it wasn't for self love I'd still be there. You look so beautiful Hannah XOXO!!

I actually lost a ton of weight on a high fat vegan diet (avocados, coconut milk, nuts & nut butter) because I got fuller on less calories and didn't need to eat nearly as much. When I cut out the fat, I gained the weight back because I was starving all the time and needed to eat more calories.

To me, it's so sad to see women who cannot be happy with their normal, perfectly healthy weight. They always want to look skinnier or more lean. I think something's really wrong with this society making women never satisfied with their bodies, I don't see that much pressure for men. If you're perfectly healthy and on your normal weight and still don't like yourself, rethink weather you are really practicing self love or not.
@laurelwelch6295
@laurelwelch6295 6 жыл бұрын
Did you listen to what she said in the video instead of just reacting to the title? She said several times that she would be perfectly happy at this weight and that she spent the past year focusing on self-love so she could be in the right mindset before making any decisions like this. She also said that she's doing it more for how her BODY feels at that weight and the looks are just an added bonus. While what you're saying is true of society at-large, that is not how Hannah is going into this journey and she shouldn't be shamed for wanting to get stronger and leaner if she chooses to do so (especially when it's done with a healthy mindset and diet).
@opiaopia5552
@opiaopia5552 6 жыл бұрын
I watched the whole video and to me it seems like there's a lot more going on under the surface comparing to her exact words. A lot of times women would say that they are doing something to be more healthy and feel better but in reality they just wanna be skinnier - there's nothing wrong with that per se but it's a thin line between normal and dysfunctional relationship with your weight and with food. I wonder how many time throughout the day Hanna spend thinking about weight and food (my guess - a lot, and I don't think that's a healthy mindset).

Laurel Welch- EXACTLY!! it's so annoying how people think they really know a person (like Hannah) who only shares 1% of their life on social media. I'm at a healthy weight too and think I look great but my excess chub on my tummy can get in the way of some of my plyometric moves I've been working on so my goal is to try to trim it down just to see if it helps my performance...athletes do it all the time so I don't understand why people have to hate so much on someone else's fitness journey.

Mahtiah Hildrilae no one is saying fat is the devil or that fat makes us fat...lots of people thrive with higher fat diets, but some don't. I rarely eat processed foods, but definitely see a plateau in weight loss when I eat high fat. It's more important to learn what foods make you feel good and thrive. And for me it changes in different seasons. Im nursing and my body responds very differently to certain foods now than it did pre-pregnancy.

Idk...it would be hard to see you trying to lose weight again, especially considering how healthy you look now. I thought you were a bit too thin before. Idk, it might be more powerful to work hard to maintain your current weight instead of changing back. To think, celebrating your current weight instead of trying to change it... As much as you;ve struggled with this stuff, I don't know if this will be good for you. I'm wishing the best for you!

LOL--I remember she said she was a Libra and that tends to be one of the shadow aspects of that sign--putting too much value on the external. I am laughing because beauty is delightful. It's just not everything and can limit one's joy. And the most maddening thing is that she's beautiful NOW! The more we as women "allow" ourselves to be comfortable in our own skin, the more liberated we truly feel. Feeling better physically is an amazing goal but I have to believe that it is also wanting to look a certain way. And there is nothing unusual about that but it's that same old spiritual versus material dilemma that hopefully Hannah is engaging in after her plant medicine experiences.

I am curious how long you maintained 120 pounds at 5'6." That seems a bit on the thin side for someone of your height. Maybe you have this mental ideal based on your clothing size that really has no importance beyond your own concept of the perfect weight. Because eating only 10-15% fat seems difficult on its own but after you get to that goal weight, then what? You still have to maintain it. So looking at the long haul, I am wondering if it's something easy to maintain.
@orangejmoothies
@orangejmoothies 6 жыл бұрын
I’m curious about that too! If ya cut calories to get down to a certain size....what do you do once you get to the that size? Do you keep eating the same lowered caloric amount orrr can you suddenly eat more..../sigh...I don’t know.. :P
@lemurianchick
@lemurianchick 6 жыл бұрын
@orangej: When we want to get down to a certain weight, I feel it should be attainable. It's not about wearing the same size as you did in high school but rather, a weight that allows you to feel light enough and at the same time, natural for your body type. Remember when Valerie Bertinelli lost all that weight for her 50th birthday, worked out, looked amazing and then gained it back? It's not about losing a certain amount of weight in a certain time frame. This is a LIFESTYLE! It's supposed to be for the long haul. And eating 10-15% fat is pretty extreme--it's the 80-10-10 diet. You can lose weight eating a higher plant fat content and KEEP it off. On this diet, you can't eat a whole avocado because that will blow your fat intake through the roof. Avocados are satiating and yet very healthy. Gradual weight loss with no deadline and a moderate fat intake would be something that could lead to a permanent eating style. I believe at some point the body would stay at its natural weight.
@orangejmoothies
@orangejmoothies 6 жыл бұрын
I agree. It’s not really about a number but just eating well and accepting my body’s natural weight without trying to distort it through extra exercise or cutting calories. No goal/deadline. Thank you for your reply/thoughts!
@lemurianchick

Yes and if a person feels like they need to lose weight, I am not against that. It's the number. I just noticed that she kept talking about her clothes not fitting but maybe the clothing size is too small. And then she said about going down to 120 pounds in 4 months. So then what? The common pattern is yoyo-ing. Especially if you're depriving yourself of fat. Maybe there are some people who live in the tropics who can live on fruit and other raw foods and don't require much fat. I know she lives in AZ. But if it hasn't been her normal diet thus far, then what happens when she reaches her goal weight? Oh well, good luck to you and Hannah!

It's quite disrespectful to tell someone that they look better, especially when she is explicitly saying that she's not exactly happy at that weight. Think before you comment on someone's appearance like that. There is nothing wrong with girls who are skinny...it doesn't mean there is something "wrong" with their health. Don't judge health based on size. Be happy for her!

@Katie: Actually, when someone presents themselves regarding their weight loss journey, they open themselves up to that scrutiny. IMO it's rude to say "you're too skinny," as if the person doesn't look attractive right now. But saying "I think you look better now" to me is not rude and is called feedback. This is the Internet. You can't always expect everyone to agree with your ideas. And that is how it should be. Malicious comments should not be allowed because they are done to spread negativity. But nothing is wrong with sharing one's opinion based on the content of the channel itself.

Been struggling my whole life with my weight and especially lately I have put on some due to struggles with binge eating. Perhaps 140 pounds is your set-point weight. Where you body goes, as you said, when you take care of yourself, practice self love, eat the foods you want, and don't focus heavily on weight loss and restrictive diets. Just because you want your body to look a certain way, that doesn't make your body function best at that weight. Finding peace and confidence, contentment and purpose regardless of what your body looks like seems much more healthy and worthwhile than trying to make yourself smaller. Fat is not bad for bodies. Particularly female bodies. Fat keeps you alive, makes your brain function. I have such a hard time understanding the obsession people have with weight and diet and exercise and "BMI." There much be better things to spend mental and physical energy on than how toned our bodies are. This woman is lovely, strong, intelligent, kind hearted and dedicated. How has it come to be that she feels that in order to "feel good" she needs to be in a smaller, more fit body? This is a cultural and societal pressure that we place upon ourselves and each other, and I protest it loudly.

thank you so much for posting this Hannah! It's never easy to talk about weight gain while you haven't yet lost the weight. I have also gained 20 pounds this past year from being depressed and a self loathing mind frame. I am currently trying to figure out how I am going to share my journey and struggles with my followers too. Seeing this video give me hope and lets me know that I am not the only one. Everyone can always gains weight, and we can always lose it too!!! I can't wait to watch your journey. You are so beautiful and have so much to offer your followers. I am most excited about your new channel that is about the more spiritual side of your life. I am an empath and a physical healer. I am in the process of working with a guardian to help me learn who to control my gifts for the good of this world. I'm glad I started off being plant based so I can start by teaching others about compassion. We can't be raising the other peoples vibrations if we are lowering our own by consuming dead low vibration animal flesh

I believe people want to get food advise from you and staying motivated with positivity and staying active in your fun ways! Maybe for yourself if you'd like, (this shouldn't be about the scale) But like you said there is just nothing like feeling comfortable in your own clothes! I really love your channel. I really don’t think it’s the 30% fat that is the issue. I’d bet that your calories were higher during the time you gained weight. Either way go easy on yourself. At the end of the day your health is all that matters. Sometimes I feel a bit sorry for you tubers. Too much hyper focus on outside appearance. It wasn't meant as an attack but rather an observation. you do like us subscribers purchasing your stuff and believing in what you are selling. I'm many years older than you have lived your pain with weight issues. The statement is a perspective that I see woman and my friends that aren't satisfied with themselves. A thought that continually preoccupies ones mind IS an obsession. Best of luck Hannah, don't be upset by my comment. It was intended as a compliment but you chose to focus on the obsession. BTW, I started watching you because of the starch solution and your recipes. And have since enjoyed watching you and Dman's journey.✌️🕉

High Carb Hannah in all honesty your reply shows that you aren’t fully healed! If you look behind why you would need to feel more confident ... you will discover that it’s because you are still comparing to an “ideal” set up by society. Otherwise there would be no reason to be less confident now as you are. I’m also older than you and can see right through this because I’ve been there myself . Best wishes ! 💕

S H they weigh the same but don’t look the same on the body. A pound of muscle is way smaller than a pound of fat. So you can gain weight and still look leaner/smaller if you are building muscle. Some people like to go by measurements/progress photos and clothing size rather than only focus on the number on the scale, which can be deceiving.

myoclonic.jerk Just some advice sister. The words we use are powerful. I remind myself first to speak what I am creating...speak as if it is. So words such as ""try are very low vibration. Practice on your own saying outloud " I am achieving my goals" as opposed to , "I am trying to achieve my goals." Also the word lose.. as opposed to release. We usually want back what we want to "lose" as opposed to releasing those 15 pounds. Most people use words like ' lose' and 'try' but i felt pushed to respond to u. I wish u the best on your journey!😊
