"Just build it now. Don't worry, you will fix it later." I tell myself, NEVER fixing it later.
@BEDplaysGAMES2 ай бұрын
Yeah, that happens, too. I try not to beat myself up over it. I'm getting better about focusing on actually fixing things - that's kinda the whole evolution of me making these videos and talking bluntly about having ADHD. My entire life before I knew about my ADHD I'd be like..."I'll definitely fix it" but the never would. Then I evolved to knowing I'll never do it....to knowing now WHY I never go do it...never fix things. Because my brain is special. To now getting some treatment and the meds and (one day soon, therapy) finding other things that help to actually do what I want to do.

Of all the 1.0 playthroughs I've started watching, I think yours is my favorite. I enjoy your humor and relate to your struggles. You do a perfect mix of storytelling, architecture and automation, I'm looking forward to seeing what else you do with your world.

Thanks so much! I appreciate the kind words. It's hard going (as you can surely tell in the video) because I want to just advance as fast as possible to see all the new stuff...and I want to go slow and decorate. I'm still morphing between the two, but I think I'll find a nice balance where I'll be unlocking stuff and then going back to decorate older stuff. Because trying to decorate a "final" never-to-be-torn down factory on the first attempt is so daunting it really halted me.
@ConflictZv2 ай бұрын
@@BEDplaysGAMES Yes I feel that 100%. My second save I wanted to make a really nice starting hub, so I rushed to unlock everything up to blueprints in around 10 hours. Then spent the next 100 hours building my starter base. I got it mostly finished, then didn't do anything else until 1.0 came and I started over again lol. I may never finish the game.

As for your somersloop in the constructor: it's normal that the very first craft is without the bonus, just like power shards only accelerate the 2nd craft, same thing. Just make some cable or something that doesn't matter. You can then switch the recipe as often as you want and the bonus stays functional. I run all my "limited" stuff through this (drops from enemies, power shards, even biomass)

Glad to see you accomplish some stuff! I was a bit worried and didn't know what to say. When I get distracted, I yell, "SQUIRREL!!!!", and that brings me back...usually. I gathered all the Mercer Spheres in the rocky desert today. One was in a new cave that isn't shown on [SCIM]. I really wish he had a bug tracker...

Does caffeine keep you up all night, tossing and turning, mind racing? If so, have we got a deal for you! Try, ADHD!!!! Sure, you may get distracted during the day, but drink all the caffeine you want and sleep like a baby! Getting tired of the grind? ADHD can help take your mind off of your daily tasks! Do meetings get you down? Not with ADHD! Now you can multitask like crazy! Keep half an ear on what is happening and let your imagination fly! Try now and we will spice it up with some ASD! This product will not allow you to sleep without stimulants. Not compatible with most careers. While having ADHD, you may not have any idea what your meetings are about and will not have an appropriate answer when called. Can help cause depression, anxiety, social disfunction, lack of motivation, complete distractions, loss of opportunities, poor decisions, lower mental acuity, lysdexia, constantly disappointing loved ones, colleagues and friends as well as wondering where you are.

I hear you about having problems staying on task. I went to the Blue Crater to build a Turbo Fuel power plant and wound up building a castle with a Moorish inspired courtyard (will share on discord soon). Now I'm adding an East Asian temple on top of it. That was 35 in game hours ago. I did build some bus roads to move around the map but still no power plant.

Thanks for the video. Machines always do that "ramp-up", when you overclock them the first time, so it's not a bug. As I do not have ADHD, I can't really truly relate to what you are struggling with, but you are pretty good at hinting at what it entails, and trying to explain it, and that is a good thing. Does it help to have "mini-goals"? As in: In this episode I have to get iron/copper/caterium smelting done first, and then go nuts with deco? And you know what? It is perfectly fine, if you finish the game at age 80 :-) Mind you, I'll be closer to 90 myself when that happens, so they better have some bloody good internet in the retirement home!! Take care, and I'll look forward to the next one.
@BEDplaysGAMES2 ай бұрын
It does! Using goals, mini-goals, and gamifying tasks is a common way to help focus the brain to provide the needed dopamine hits. My meds are helping a lot, too, though I'm still struggling to find the right med and dosage. I actually had this thought, that I should film my episodes entirely as segments. Instead of turning the camera on and then "going", make a miniplan, turn the camera on and tell myself, "now we're going to make a hexagon blueprint" do it, turn the camera off, think about what I want to do next, film it. I'm going to try it for one or two of the upcoming episodes.

@Game_Blox99992 ай бұрын
It doesn't work for the first product because it has to run through the first registered production run, and if that means bypassing the loop-organ, then so be it. After slooping a machine, I usually run a throwaway product for the first one just to clear the non-duped production run.
@BEDplaysGAMES2 ай бұрын
Yeah! It's like when you change the clocking on a machine but it has to finish the cycle it's running. Seems like it needs to do one cycle first.
@TheXtrafresh2 ай бұрын
yup! The machine only adjusts it's running speed after it finished a cycle. What we intuitively expect is the machine doing that check at the start of a new one.

Great catch! It's new, but I took that part out of this episode because I wasn't happy with it. I'm still trying different designs. I'll touch on it soon, but it's basically a box to help run belts around. A friend, Farty (hence) the name, built these little boxes for this purpose in a multiplayer server, and I thought it was such a great idea I wanted to steal it.
