On a snowy day back in High School I got bogged down going up those dunes from the back side (Matt's mentioned the back side a few times) in my Toyota 4X4 pickup (1985) and a vw beetle with six boys packed in flew past me laughing at us as they zipped around us and all over the dunes. On the way back where the road turns from sand to clay we got our revenge they got stuck and we laughed at them as we zipped by. We stopped and all of us literally picked up the beetle and carried it to harder ground

So, the person in that video may not be keen to be labeled as a 'Saudi'

Also, super jealous of all you guys out west. Here in the northeast there's hardly any public lands to play on, and the beaches are mostly closed to motor vehicles, a few are open if you buy an expensive permit, but there's strict rules abut speed, etc. Basically just drive up and down the beach at 10mph.

Matt, you’re a “stand up guy” so I understand why someone would drive 2000 miles to meet you. We need more people like you in this world!

I learned the parking brake trick 40 years ago, but never had seen anyone use it until now. GREAT recovery.

You and me too. I found this channel a few days ago when looking into kinetic ropes. Since then I've consumed probably around 60-70% of his videos. I really want to pick up his rope, but things are a little tight around the holidays.

One of the best aspects of your videos is that you don't repeat video footage (except for a short, dramatic intro). I can't stand reality shows like Highway Through Hell, or even Myth Busters anymore because they take about 10-15 minutes of video and replay short clips over and over and over to stretch out a program to 44 minutes. I enjoy your format where you show a quick highlight and then tell the story in chronological order, with a recap at the end. That seems honest and refreshing to me. Matt's portrayed patience is admirable, too. Please keep posting new videos! I see that you've just surpassed 70K subscribers at the time of this comment. For improvements, I'd suggest trying to boost volume on the talking parts and reducing music volume. Also, even though the travel sections are sped up, I still skip through them. I mostly look for your interactions with customers, crew, and the people at the Sand Hollow entrance booth, plus the actual extraction, and, of course, Lady and Max. Your equipment reviews and driving tips are really interesting, too. Another KZbin channel said people should never attach two tow straps with a metal bow hook because if a strap snaps, the metal hook becomes a dangerous projectile. Do you feel that spongy ropes prevent that danger? Thanks for making great KZbin content that actually helps people in the Southern Utah desert!
