It's when people develop an actual romantic relationship with someone outside of their marriage/relationship, and continue to pursue it with long-night texts, "I love yous" behind their partner's back, meeting often for lunch(dates in disguise) etc. Sometimes people will claim that there was never physical relationship and those texts were all that happened.

My advice for the second OP, turn an entire bedroom into your cat condo. Start with putting up all kinds of carpet-wrapped shelves, cardboard tubes, like toilet paper and paper towels show up wrapped around, and maybe even put something made out of rope, metal chains, and bars attached to the rafters in the room's ceiling with a patchwork maze of wooden boards, most of the encased in the same carpet as the shelves as well, just to really stick it to the ex. Honestly, hating cats is a red flag to me. Yeah, I agree, when someone tell me they don't like cats I'm immediately like "mmmmm ok..." My boyfriend doesn't like cats, but I know it's not because of any of what you said, he's just allergic and basically only knows the stereotypes, since he never comes close to cats (his allergies is really bad... I can't touch him before carefully washing my hands after petting a cat), so he basically doesn't know how lovable and sweet cats can be.
