Yo Johnathan definitely take it easy for more than a couple of days! The most important thing you can do for concussion is get a ton of rest 😴 sleep as much as you can because your brain heals while you're asleep. Recovery time varies - first couple of days take completely off, gradually increase your activity after a few days and you'll be back shredding in no time! Hope you feel better soon!

Even mild concussions should have a recovery time of a week minimum. It is recommended 2 weeks though

@@AnnisAdventures Definitely! Two weeks with no impact is often standard, everyone is different and it can take longer to fully heal. A few days into the recovery period you can start to get back to work and exercise as long as symptoms aren't present. Always better to take it slow returning to full activity.

I got concussed hard my second time boarding, couldn’t remember what happened or anything. My mother said I didn’t even know who she was, went to emergency room and was fine and they said I could ride the next day too. Started wearing a helmet after that.🤘

Friend of mine was learning how to snowboard and banged his head without a helmet hard enough to forget all his lessons from the day before.....luckily it was only temporary and he got his memory back. Helmets save lives and brain cells fo sho.

I've been boarding since 2002 and never have worn a helmet. In that time I've smacked my head on the ground more times than i can count and even have knocked myself so silly that i had to stop riding for the day. I'm worried about permanent damage so this winter I WILL BE WEARING A HELMET.

I hope you see this Jonathan - concussions are no joke and you definitely have one (your body went into the fencing position (google it) when your head hit the ground) you need to take more than 2 days off or if you choose to hit the mountain before you need to seriously go at 50% and make sure you dont hit your head again while your brain is recovering (it can be fatal) I highly recommend seeing your doctor tomorrow and then get cleared by the doc before you hit the mountain hard again (maybe 10 days). As someone who has had 5 concussions in his life take this seriously, please.

I did that a bunch during my first season. It takes a lot to try to continue to learn and progress after something like that. Almost like getting back on the horse immediately after getting bucked off.

That's the part I hate about snowboarding - when you catch an edge you'll ALWAYS slam, and it hurts! But, I have had high speed ski crashes, but not a single time have I ever come close to hurting myself, never, because it's mainly slide-outs.

Dude, I feel your pain! I've had 7 concussions playing ice hockey and they come easier and easier if I hit my head. My worst was instant confusion as to what rink I was at, loss of peripheral vision in my right eye for two weeks, headache for 6 days, not being able to focus at work, and fluid draining into my ear. I was out for a month. It suuuuuuuuuuuccccks.

Recovering from a gnarly edge catch, my entire helmet caved in and the vents are popping out of my helmet. The inside of my wavecel helmet is crumbled up and is squished together. OI snowboards are can rock you, never had a bad head injury on skis lol

That was one nasty hit!! Heal up man!! My Helmets have MIPS tech on them, that helps on most impacts. Test them down hill mountain biking and one crash similar to yours, that stuff works. Good video, that pow look so good.

Once while riding I fell on ice and bonked my head. I don’t remember if I was wearing a helmet, but I saw a bright flash of light. Made it to bottom of hill, I was riding up the lift with my brother and I realized I didn’t know where I was. I couldn’t remember my car, my job, etc.

felt it as if it was me ;/ it is always a danger when doing rotation tricks, especially having some injuries already. Your mind thinks it is fine, but your body stiff for split second and you catch an edge

I was at mammoth with my snowboard team, I was in the transition between two jumps, and did what you did, I slammed my head so hard, I got maybe one of the worst bloody nones I have ever had, my coach had to make a snowball and give it to me to put over my nose, riding down, I felt nauseous, confused, and had a headache, it isn’t fun.
