UPDATE: The trays got much easier to take out after a few days. I have since made a new video on how I take my trays out quickly and painlessly. Feel free to watch that if you are struggling - link in the description of this video! ☺️

Bless you ha ha. Thank you so much for showing us. I just had my buttons put in and have not removed the aligners yet. I could not get the bottom one in without help of the dentist, so am relieved to see that others are struggling a well. Wish me luck, as I am getting hungry!

I feel your pain! I actually cut my lip taking them out the first time. After two weeks using the ortho key, things have improved. All the best to you!

I’m on my third tray and can totally relate to the feelings you had on the first day. I got out of the orthodontist’s thinking like omg why did I do this, I sound so silly when I talk etc. My ortho made me practice taking them in and out and the top tray was so tight I must have spent 30 minutes trying to get them off and I almost cried because it was so frustrating and in a way, claustrophobic. The good news is that it gets a whole lot easier. I don’t notice much pain at all now and the lisp has mostly gone away. I will say that I can’t wait to get those attachments off, I hate they way the feel when I’m eating.

Lauren, I feel for you so much!! I just started my third tray today and my experience overall has been similar to yours. Those first few days were the worst and I was questioning everything. I totally agree about the buttons too! They feel so weird and food gets snagged on them. Things are definitely better now though! Glad they’ve gotten better for you too. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! 💕

I'm now on my first set of trays....it hurts a lot...meals got limited..can't eat outside in public places/Street foods.. everytime when i eat meat it gets stuck in attachments...and worst part was when i got to know that after treatment i have to wear retainer set for more 3 years..my half of the day goes in thinking about teeths and doing teeth stuff.... struggle is real...one really needs patience for invisible aligners treatment result.

I am on my first week and had all the feelings you did! Didn’t know I’d have buttons on my teeth. Didn’t know they’d be nearly impossible to remove at first and that removing them would feel like I was ripping my teeth out. Holy cow. I cried the first couple days wondering if I could even continue. My ortho didn’t tell me much of what to expect - why do they do that? Thank god for KZbin videos like yours!

I could not agree more! The beginning felt like such a shock and a huge adjustment. I also cried those first few days. I hate that you’ve not had a pleasant first week, but I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I’ve finished treatment now and looking back, I’m grateful I stuck it out. Good luck to you! 💚

I'm currently about 5 months into my invisilign journey and I totally related to you trying to get them out. I've learned the best way to get them out (the top tray) is to take my index finger and put on the opposite side of my mouth and find the last tooth and hook my nail into the invisilign and pull down. if you repeat this on the other side it comes out pretty easy
@JessLotte2 жыл бұрын
I am so glad it got easier for you too, girl!! After a few days of struggling, I finally figured out that same technique and it works so much better! I hope comments like yours can help other people because you explained it really well. Best wishes in your Invisalign journey, Madison! 💕

Thank you so much for showing us your journey. I just this week took the step to have Invisalign as my teeth have shifted since I had braces as an adult about 5 years ago. I never even thought about how hard they would be to get on and off. They told me I will be in them for 40 weeks so this time next year I will be done which I keep telling myself as a pep talk.
@JessLotte2 жыл бұрын
I promise it gets easier to take them out!! I was not doing it right at all in this video, but after a few days I figured out some tricks and it’s been so easy ever since. I’m starting my 9th tray next week, so the time really does go by fast. Thanks so much for watching and I wish you the best on your Invisalign journey!! 👏

Mine are best inserted, if I seat the front [incisors, upper and lower] first, and then snap down the back [molars]. And, of course, "chew" them into place, either with the "chewies" [which wear out quickly], or, my favorite, a teether. And, for those of you considering Invisalign, but are reluctant, because of perceived discomfort and hassles of insertion, removal, and cleaning --- it all becomes easier and smoother, very quickly, and the results are worth it.
@natz29912 жыл бұрын
One tip to Remove tray - 1)try to remove from inside . Removing from outside is not possible becoz buttons are there to hold it...once they are half removed from inside it'll get easier to take them out. 2) slight grown nails will help better to remove tray...cons- big nails can also hit gums and hurt them
@mrrrrr51587 ай бұрын
First time removing my first set of aligners, i cracked 4 of my nails trying to take them off. Still couldnt take out the top aligners, until i used Kitchen roll/kitchen tissue -> to grab the back of the aligner and pull. Since then i use kitchen roll each time.

I’m in my fourth tray of Invisalign right now. The first tray is BY FAR the worst. It’s new, uncomfortable, I had a lisp the first week, they were soooo tight, and it was even hard to sleep the first 2 days because my teeth were aching so badly. My 2nd, 3rd, and 4th trays have been so much easier. The lisp went away and the trays don’t feel as tight anymore (maybe I’m more used to the feeling?). First 1-2 days of a tray change feel a bit tight again but by the end of the week they’re loose enough to pop off easily in a second. Just stick with it, power through that first week and everything gets much better!

Hi Jess, the first time when I tried removing my trays I literally struggled for about 15min and felt my eyes filling with tears, I was feeling like a complete moron and it felt as if im gonna rip my teeth out with them. So glad I seen this video cause nobody really tells you this at the beggining and everyone else made it look so easy, now I know am not such a dumbass at least. Also dont worry about the buttons, I've got 22 of them and sharp as hell they are, look like my teeth have grown another set of teeth on them, the biggest pain is eating with them as Im constantly biting myself.

I had the same experience I was told about the buttons before I went into it I was never told that they would be basically shaving gaps between all of my front teeth, when I went to the appointment they put the buttons on and then she told me in the most nonchalant way that she would be shaving the teeth that is when I stopped and said I never would have done this had I known , I cried as well I was in such a panic and so upset that I had basically been misled and lied to I understand they do this for many people but they should be way more upfront about it it was not painful to me but I only allowed them to do one on the bottom as an example
@JessLotte2 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness! I am so sorry this happened to you, Shawna. I felt the exact same way. I had no idea what IPR was until they were literally in my mouth about to start shaving. I still feel sad about one particular tooth they shaved down. I suppose it needed to happen in order for my teeth to shift properly, but I felt so attached to how that tooth looked and it will never be the same :( I agree they really do need to be more upfront about this part of Invisalign. Teeth shaving is a BIG deal in my opinion.
@ralnacrisu Жыл бұрын
I totally feel you, I cried to when they shaved my teeth even if they told me they would do it with a plastic strip like before, but in fact they did it with the drill which was awful 😖 indeed they should be more open about this and about the gag reflex
@jae18802 жыл бұрын
I have a clear retainer and a tip that I use is keeping your nails long enough to be able to get in between your tray and the teeth and pull from the back outside. Another tip is to train yourself to learn how to put them in without looking in the mirror (it’s a lifesaver when you’re out in public and may not have access to a bathroom)
@JessLotte2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tips! After I posted the video, it got a lot easier and now I can’t believe how hard it was for me at first 😅 Thanks for watching and taking time to comment, Jheri!

I might start this in April. I'm a little nervous about it. Would you do it all again for the results you have? Did they remove your wisdom teeth?
@JessLotte2 жыл бұрын
I absolutely would do it all over again. I’m still not finished, but my teeth have moved so much already - one of my more recent videos has progress photos if you’re interested. But yeah, I understand being nervous! It is a big commitment, but you get used to it and it’s totally worth it. They did not have to remove my wisdom teeth. Oh also - if you have the option, I’d recommend going to an orthodontist rather than a dentist. From what I’ve heard, they tend to be better, more thorough, precise, etc.

I do felt you anger when you tried to get them out. I got mine 2 days ago and taking them out is a nightmare. I’ve already had like 3 panic attacks from not being able to take them out. Not bc I’m just so hungry, but bc I start school in 2 weeks and if I can’t get them out at school in the short period of time that we have lunch idk what I will do. It makes me stress so much, but I’m hoping it gets easier. Ik you have already got them off by now but what how I get them off is, first for the top ones I pull and pull and hope they come off and for the bottom I get like my shirt or something and pull and it almost always pops out. But I hate it so so much

Ok so, tip. The first tray fit me tight too and they didn't teach me how to remove it. Basically, go on the INSIDE of your mouth and pull down from there. Since there aren't brackets in there, you can actually slide it down. It's nearly impossible to remove if you pull from the bracket side.

I am 68 years old and have aligners in place for the past 11 months. I had to have them because my teeth had so bad,y misaligned I had no bite and my tongue was getting caught between two on the bottom, slitting my tongue! 11 months end I am only half way through my treatment, have had three new mouth scans as they continually keep not fitting properly and I still have a lisp. I have a very small mouth and they have trouble taking the scans each time. I have to wear new aligners every seven days but this always extends an extra three days as the work is never done. The set I am wearing at the moment I can fit my tongue under them at the back of my top front teeth. Every set I wear is painful for the first few days. I was never told all that wearing these entailed. 🥹
