I felt that way too when I had to finish school and leave my son to my mother-in-law. I couldn't sleep and focus. One day, after school while commuting back to our house. I met a woman holding a baby inside the jeepney and then I just lost it. I cried and just couldn't hold back my tears..well, I took the bus that afternoon to see my son in my school uniform.Don't worry, I did finish my degree. I realized that I had to focus for his future. But it was just so hard. I guess that's part of motherhood, I think. Love lots!

I feel you in this Coraleen. I was blessed to enjoy a year with my son undisturbed from work. But when it was time for me to get back. I always cry and it took a while for that transitioned but our children are smart enough to understand if we try to explain to them. My son is turning 3 years old and every time I go to work, he would know and say "are you going to work Mama?" I'll see you later. I love you. You are doing a great job Coraleen. Leila will soon understand, that you are doing this for her future. Hats off to all of us mothers and to grandparents that help with child rearing. ♡♡♡

I feel you, we always bring our son wherever we go but we left for Aruba on my 40th bday without him(he was 2 yrs old then) I felt terrible but realized that kids are resilient , of course they will miss us but they go through it better than we think. Keep yourself busy, you're not less of a doting mom because you left her to do work. You both will be fine 😘 sending light and love.

Not to worry, Leila will not remember any of this, and will not suffer any negative effects from separation anxiety. Though infants do not remember the early years, it is so very important to stimulate their neuron growth by talking, singing, reading to, and engaging in sound repetition while adding words. Their brains double the amount of neurons their born within the first year, so as long as you occupy her when she is alert and responsive, she's going to grow up well. Children normally do not remember anything prior to the age of 2-3 years old.

As a mom we have to do some sacrifices for their future. I know it's really difficult and heart breaking whenever we have leave them. I travel to 2 to 3hrs to QC every night and it really makes me feel sad that I am not the one to put my child to bed before I leave because I can't be late for work. What I always look forward to after work is to come home and see his smiling face. His eyes are always full of excitement to see me that pays off the long night of work and travel longing to be with my child again. ❤ you can do it Cora! I admire your courage and appreciate that you post this in your channel. Most moms can definitely relate to what you are going through. ❤❤❤

Yes, I had that same experience dropping my son at the daycare felt bad leaving him behind & wished I could be with him always but had to work to provide for him. it's good and healthy for them to learn to be emotionally independent and they to have to learn about life, at the end of the day it's exciting to pick them up and just being joyous to be together again. It's part of growing as parenting & see how they grow with you as well

Hi Cora! Kudos to you coz you're doing just great. Don't feel guilty for leaving your lovely Leila because she will be just fine. It's natural for babies to cry and feel overwhelmed with unfamiliarity but babies can easily adjust. You just have to focus on what you gotta do. Motherhood is a tough job indeed but I believe that you are very much capable to handle it. Just think of happy thoughts. God bless and love lots 💞

I am a man but when my son was that small and i had to go somewhere that we could not take him for a couple of days was the hardest thing i ever had to do but your have to realize that you left her with some one that you trust and would never let anything happen to her. Kids Literally cry when they see you leave and when you are on the phone if you are away but when they kept busy with loving people time goes so fast for them. FYI there will be tears from you and her but when you see each other in a few days your heart will feel so light my dear. 🤗

Feel you. The anxiety is incomparable. We went to the province. I need to go for a few hours that night..the first time I'll leave my baby to my mother in law..I was thinking too that it'll be bonding time for them .. and all the titas went crazy bout her too..like they all want to cuddle her. I was out like an hour and there they are calling me.. my mother in law was horrified. My baby doesn't want to stop crying..wailing..she almost choked. Aww she can sense when I'm away. They drove to where I am..and handed me the baby.. because they got so nervous aww and my little one stopped crying when I cuddle her.

I don't know if this works but they said, leave your used clothing (e.g. t-shirt) and put it to your baby as a blanket when they go to sleep. They were looking for their mom's scent and that makes them feel safe and secured.

What you're feeling is absolutely normal. Reality is, we're in love with our babies more than they're into us. That's what people feel when they suddenly part with the people they're super duper in love with - anxiety issues. Remember your first boy love when you had to go home or when you've not been seeing him? That's how you feel magnified 10x more because unlike your boy, who can take care of himself, your baby had to depend on you for everything and that provision of security to your baby is paramount for you to feel good about yourself. Thing about babies is, they dont have filters yet. In fact they're predatory and they just want, want, want. So if they dont get what they want (which is you), they get sad, they cry. They're sad because they're not used to the new environment yet and the people. Main aim of the people at the house is to keep the mind of your baby occupied. If they're good, your daughter wont even look for you. But all will be good. When uou come back, you will see the biggest smile there is in her angelic face. My daughter's 11 now so I know. At age of 5, she couldn't even remember things she did before 3. All will be good.

Hi Ms. Cora in our province we have this belief that in order for a child or infant not to cry too much when the parent (mother/father) is not around just leave your unwashed clothing at home and let the baby hug it. I'm still single but it works in my younger sister.

KAWAWAAAAAA, This is life, perhaps video chat with her while being strong and upbeat, NO CRYING !!!!!! Just say mommy misses you and will be home soon with a positive spin. If you are sad she will be sad seeing you that way, and if she is sad you need to be strong as this might not be the last time this situation arises. make it a positive thing and bring her home something from the trip. Positive reinforcement. You are still gorgeous but what is up with those bangs? Keep up the great work. See you Thursday.

Love u, first off! Our kids are the same age, 10 months :) and I’m also a first time mom. how do u not think about your baby?! I could never. I don’t know what to say other than it’s harder on you than it is on her. She is getting spoiled by Lola. And she is getting the best kind of love. We can only give our kids the best of us, and let’s be honest we don’t have it all! we just have to tell ourselves that they are getting the best as well, from other people, the things perhaps we lack or fall short of. Did that make sense? This is what i tel myself. My little one starts daycare in 2 months! Anyway 2 more days. It’ll fly. If it helps, tell her you love her and you’ll be home soon. You got this mama! From TO, Canada.

Actually I think next time you have to take her. I know if you hadn't gotten that call it might have been easier. I remember one time I went to camp for a week and one of my dad's uncles died and they came and got me to go to viewing. Then they brought me back to camp and I was homesick the rest of the week. And later my niece got taken away for awhile and she was the first niece I ever had and I had to not think about her at all and it didn't seem right but if I thought about her I'd get mad that it wasn't fair so I just had to forget until she came back. I know that you really think it's your fault but she's just too young to handle mommy being gone that long. It's not your fault, Coraleen! You are very used to being with her most of the time and maybe three days was something you wanted to try to handle but you probably were only built for one or a day and a half and it was too big of a chunk. You wanted to be a big girl but she's your baby and you just really love her and it kills you. And Coraleen, you DO LOVE HER. You want to think you're the meanest cruelest person in the world but you have a beautiful HEART and you left her with your grandmother and if it wasn't a relative you probably wouldn't have left her. I know you were probably telling yourself not to go without her from the beginning and that's why it was so hard. You were thinking oh she's with grandma and you had second thoughts from the beginning and then the call and you see her. Yeah just the vibe moved bad. So it's better to try not to think about her but she's so part of you I don't know if you can. Coraleen I'm sorry that you cried but you're not bad. I hope this helps but I know the whole time you were gone it was very hard. If you're still on your trip I hope you can get through it and if you're home I know you're glad.
