Instead of writing off the mega rares, maybe add in that you need to do x number of farm runs of it per video/month/zone (something) so that it is being worked on somewhat, or if it is a BoE, if you have the money to afford it from the AH then you're compelled to buy it. This gives a good consistent drain on cash going on while giving it some tangible value to the story of the account

I originally wanted to do something like that, but I wasn't able to track the amount of runs I did in Gnomer. My kill track add-on wasn't tracking for a good portion of runs and my stats page doesn't show my kills for Thermaplug for some reason. The gold idea was also though up, but both of the items that I was missing go for 5+ million gold. So that Idea got thrown out pretty quick. However in the future when mega rares are involved I am planning to have at least some count of runs for the dungeons.

Gnomeregan showed up! I remember years ago grinding for that electric leg boss drop so i could get a special hunter pet. Brings back memories! Showed gnomercy and you got your drops! The grind was real on this one. And off to another famous zone in westfall now. Im glad to hear theres a guild and community forming around this! As a collector myself it's been my favorite journey to follow as of late, great work on that! I've seen the dungeon run count idea being proposed, but how about a summary maybe not after every single drop, but a zone drop with the amount of time since the last drop and the amount of runs, to put this grind more into perspective - good luck and stay determined, cheers!

Respect for the commitment, that I certainly don't have. Either waiting for rares or grinding a dungeon. Also, if you always have killed the final boss. In the achivement, at the bottom, is a statistic tab. Where you can see how often you have killed a final boss. Its under dungeons & raids.

Speaking of pet battle dungeons... Technically the battle pets you can collect would count towards completing a zone, since each zone has unique battle pets wandering around or as drops.

Yes, they would! Khalect is meant to finish up my account, he wouldn't need to get any battle pets since I have everything until mop for one. When I get there though, that pet will be required!

The Caverndeep Trudgers are also available via Classic Timewalking--though the item (while sharing a name and appearance) is actually a different ID so it'd probably be recognised as distinct by ATT.

Hotshot pilot gloves you'll be able to tick off from the bloody surgeon's gloves down the track as well. Something that has another source I think is fine to skip until later.

One thing I will say on mega rares, I’m pretty sure some Wowhead data is wrong. I think their denominator includes all the kills before 10.1.7. HOWEVER there are some without listed rates like the conjurer’s staff that idk what to do about either

That's how I feel about it. If it's at least 0.01 it's a drop that can still happen. Anything less is pretty much too time consuming to get for a series so "MEGA RARE". Both of the items from the video don't show a drop rate on WOWHEAD. I do know the data can be off with the returned items, but it's pretty much what we have to go off of.

@ Completely agree, there’s a balance to be had. I’m just mentally multiplying a lot of the rates by like 5-10x until they fix the math (I’ve sent in a feedback thing on it). But for my challenge I’m just not requiring like below .5% for rare mob drops and below 0.05% for zone drops (assuming there’s multiple of the mobs) for the time being

@@LordKnabbleWOW While I have your ear lol, I think I saw in your streams a few people bring up raids. I *think* what I might do is, at the end of expansion(s) increase the level cap by 5 to make raids farmable (and use Chromie time for everything else to keep it scaled). It's a bit weird with the first bit (since Vanilla+TBC+WotLK are all in the same bucket) but I think will work well otherwise.
