for the last 2.5 years i have been searching for "everything mushroom" on youtube, today your channel poped up randomly on the front page before I signed in. btw: you can expand those grow kits into your garden on straw or wood chips, or even make new sawdust or straw blocks yourself.

Thanks for clicking on my video 😊 I would love to expand mushrooms into a garden. I live in a condo but I've been debating asking some family members if I can inoculate a few logs on their property.

@@littleurbangardener I also live in an apartment, my children & I built a "Martha Tent" to grow our mushrooms. we use a 50/50 mix of sawdust & soy hulls in mushroom grow bags, pressure cook for 2 to 2.5 hours & inoculate with either colonized grains or colonized sawdust. i have some rudimentary videos on my channel. the martha tent. Wow this was awesome! Didn’t expect there to be such drama involved, also didn’t even know people did this. I would love to try it one day. Looked sooo satisfying seeing the swift changes, well done!! Can you eat them raw? Love watching plants grow 🍄

It's so much fun to do! I definitely recommend trying it. You should cook oyster mushrooms before eating them. I don't think anything bad will happen if you eat them raw, but they definitely have a weird texture & taste if you don't cook them.

mushrooms do not have any nutrant value if eaten raw, humans must cook them to benifit from all their mushroom goodness.
