We lived in the PA mountains for years, had a barn built with peg/hole old fashioned way. Raised animals for 4H. I got diagnosed with a life long disease in my 40’s during the recession, we had to sell it. Paid cash for a foreclosed on house in town 10 years ago. I still hate it. I miss the pitch black & complete silence at night. I miss my chickens the most. I told my husband, I can’t live the rest of my life here. I don’t care if we live in a trailer, I want to be back in the mountains.

I never miss an episode and enjoy watching you guys tackle every job you come across. You’re not afraid to do stuff yourself which in the long run pays off. As far as the slab of Concrete your contractor will be pouring great sub base. I’ve been doing concrete for 56 years and it rare to have a customer do what you guys are doing. Which is great. Cement is what makes Concrete along with the sand an aggregate. Keep up the good work. Also Happy Birthday Brody

Chet, always move as much as you can prior, saves you time and much effort later on. I don't know how you receive your winds but, if those trees are on the north end, build your house near those, use them as a wind break from those harsh winter winds. Not many think about things like that and later on realize their mistake. Lined wells, nothing they can do other than test the condition of the water and to see the volume you can pump, they can't clean them do to that lining. Looking forward to seeing more of this build project. Cheers :)

In the intro of your videos there is footage of a drone flying over the farm buildings and grain bins. There is a shot looking towards a lake in the background. Everytime I see the lake I wonder why someone has not built a house there. I'm happy to see that Chet will be building one in the future.

So is the building site a shop only or are you combining it with a house on the other end? Then when DougO buys a new dock you can buy the old one. You sure have done a lot of changes the past year. Pretty exciting.
