Aston barclay would be 100 quid in fees, I'd make a point of travelling to a live auction bud, stock up to make it worth while. Tbh old 56 plate fusion at 1200 plus quid seems very expensive, never mind if it needs anything else, hope it gets done.

When I had my sales business, the physical auction visits were a BIG part of the job. Travelling 100's of miles weekly, viewing and assessing my proposed buys and meeting up with other dealers and traders. The on line aspect, may well save time and fuel, but give me 'the old days' anytime. I really dont envy anyone trading, let alone retailing these days! Your videos deserve the appreciation thet get! Keep it up...I'd be pulling my hair out by now, seeing how things so easily catch you out, despite all your best efforts.

BCA are taking the Piss with their fees,I’ve been going there for years and managed to avoid any real problems because I stood next to the vehicle on start up which is usually the time faults show up when the engine is cold,this buying on line caper buying unseen and not being able to hear them is utter nonsense, they are getting away with murder with this way of selling vehicles but traders still buy them,it’s like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets in the gun and one empty chamber, they cream off all the decent vehicles to sell Via their retail outlet, Cinch and I believe Cazoo. They have closed all their live auction centres,it’s time someone else offered live auction sales so that the vehicles can be visually inspected before bidding on them, they will not accept any complaints about their discription of the vehicles and when they do it takes age’s to get any money out of them, they want their money but are very reluctant to repay any money they owe you,customer service is not their strongpoint they are ruthless.

BCA also take the piss out of their own Trade Plate Drivers and contractors, and have done for years. Like Tesco, this behemoth has swallowed up all the small companies and spat them out, and you can't buy anything from their auctions unless you're a dealer. If the dealers had any sense, they should boycott BCA for at least a month, just like the nurses, doctors and railway staff and bring them to their knees. There's obviously far too much corruption at the top level, and some dealers are getting better bargains than most.

As a trade plate driver, regularly collecting from BCA auction sites, a word of warning, especially if they are WBAC cars. I have delivered cars with more damage than BCA have described, also if there are mechanical issues eg bald tyre, EML light on etc I probably would refuse to drive it. This must have cost several man hours, which isn't cheap!!

I agree, on first glance the fees are daylight robbery, but as time is money for dealers being able to check a cars condition accurately with pictures, descriptions and history is worth a few quid. And at the end of the day the cost is passed on to the final retail buyer.

Well when your looking at 80%+ profit thats greed
@ChopsGarage Жыл бұрын
You do not have the right math that's the issue. So assuming 5.5k is correct price for yours then thats 2.5k gross margin. VAT on that alone is £500. Then if just £500 to prep thats £1.5k left (and its a big assumption it will only be £500). Then there is the 3rd Party Warranty on that £200 and the Valet £50. So £1200 left. Adverts across all platforms £100. Then the negotiated discount or over allowance on Part Ex so thats easy £200. £1000 left to pay staff, premises and the income tax at say 20%. Realistic net profit £500 so in fact less than 10%. They still then have to cover any issues the warranty won't within the first 6 months. The problem with out industry is people simply deduct purchase from sale and claim we rip people off and make huge profit.
@451greenwood Жыл бұрын
@ChopsGarage based on you comment and your figures you just quoted will apply to all cars, that means the cars in the video are total loss to the company? That doesn't make sense as warranty,staff,advertising premises and so on bill be the same on all cars from £500-10,000, point being if in your own words £2500-3000 is not really £2500-3000 at the end figure then you need to be looking at buying cars with above this number to make any reasonable profit plus the buying/cost of the car too to make it work? But I get where your coming from...
@ChopsGarage Жыл бұрын
@@451greenwood not sure what you mean. 2k is the minimum you really need to start with to end up netting 500 to 800. If you are trading cars under 3k say then realistically you have to accept small profits , 500. But selling cars under 2k is pretty much impossible. So as said its simply a misunderstanding of true overheads that leads people to think px offers are not fair.
