That cylinder must be running very lean to burn the exhaust valve out, probably the injector bud, 12 mths later, gosh(!) On these going half deals, don't talk trade prices, talk full retail and go half, double up and half it I call it, stop doing massive favours. Told you you'd end up doing discs all round as you sent em to halfords and they've scared them, you just keep shooting yourself in the foot mate. Start to say bring it back, lend them a car then you can sort it at your leisure. I had one the other week, megane broken down, they'd gone to a garage local to them, it'd be oh full set of injectors, this and that, I went out, brought it in, it was number 4 injector, did it for 250,new injector, I bet their garage would have wanted 2k,car was only 3k (!) stop sending your customers to other Garages, keep it in house and an eye on the costs, so what if they're miles away, that's their inconvenience, start being firm but fair, I can't see how all new discs and pads will cure a knock anyway bud, those handbrake shoes never wear out either.

I had a customer keep asking for more extra little jobs on a car valet for no extra money, as he deemed his car was clean anyway, in his opinion for what that is worth. He pushed it too far so I told him I wouldn't be coming again. Goodwill ran out. FAFO.

Coat the bike in ACF50 over the winter, its what we all do, and it will still look the same next spring. Good on the Mokka fix, customers tell two people about good service, but they tell at least twenty when they aren't happy.

I had a corsa the other week bud, flashing glow plug light, went into limp, dpf, I cleaned it out 3 times with dpf cleaner and it came out of limp and light went out on its own, do not just chuck in 4 glow plugs without scanning it, 100 quid each and risking snapping one, I won't change em if a job comes in. One of my customers brought a late skoda in, main dealer (under warranty) wouldn't change the plug, I did it, I could feel it being gritty as it came out, carbon on it, it brought half the threads out, I put the new one in, just got it to 14 meters torque, but I knew it would strip, anyway it's held, but a 20 quid job turns into a nightmare.

Scan the mokka first, if it's the glow plug light, it's not actually a glow plug warning, it's showing some sort of fault, could be a glow plug, could be anything, you know bud, diesels....

well he cant we have consumer rights for 6 month so for example if battery failed he be still liable for fixing it as the trader would after prove the fault wasn't already there which we know no one would know if the battery was already on its way out . but for the sake of a battery also dont cost much depending on car i would replace myself but alot of people that dont know how to do the work or if battery is alot of money they would contact trader and tell them i want it replacing

Glow plug light can be many different things, I had a glow plug light on a VAG Seat Toledo. Put a code reader on it. Only code was for a rear bulb, replaced bulb and instantly the glow plug light went off. The glow plugs were fine. Hopefully its something simple and not a glow plug

It’s end of warranty, you done more than you should have, set of glow plugs on top won’t do much harm. On the other hand you will have someone talking about you how great of a car dealer you are you might get few more customers from him. And when it will be time for him to upgrade make sure you double your margin on his car and charge “mates rates”. At this point he won’t be going round looking for cars elsewhere anyway after experience he’s had with you so well played I’d say.

Wow, bikes have shot up in price. Back in 1976, I got my brand new Honda CB 125 for £329! And that was after a price increase. It would have been £299 previously.... The fully comprehensive insurance for my Honda was £34 for a year's cover..... I stick with 4 wheels these days, being almost 70 years old.
