This story is an ALL genre anime. It literally had a bit of everything. The cast of characters are so fun that it doesn't matter the adventure it's always a blast.

Nice to see you doing anime reactions, and a hell of one to do at that. Dandadan is absolutely wild. It's got horror, sci-fi, action, but above all, it's a rom-com! Momo and her friends are very much Gyaru. Momo is a bit weird in the fact that she is obsessed with real world Japanese actor and singer Ken Takakura, best known for his stoic and masculine roles. He was big in the 80s and 90s. One of his lines "I'm an awkward fellow, after all." is what made Momo's heart skip a beat. Occult-kun may not LOOK like his namesake, but he embodies the important parts!

5:30 *gyaru And yes, both this and Devilman Crybaby were animated by Science saru. In Dandadan's OP, you can also see the iconic Devilman Crybaby run for a short amount of time.

this anime is amazin, at the very least the manga is. i know the part with the aliens can be a little to much for some people, but like with Goblin Slayer dont get that part fool you, this story has horror, comedy, romance, action and to be hones some of the best female characters in all Shonen.

@@Ashewyn understandable, these scenes made me also uncomfortable. Fortunately, these kind of scenes relatively quickly drop down - Maybe the author realized they were too much. The rest of the manga is absolute peak and it seems the anime wants to do it justice.

I've been reading Dandadan since it launched day one. It's a great series and I'm glad more people are "FINALLY" getting to know this series. . . . The mangaka know how to write a great story from goofy moments to flat out the saddest tear jerker back stories.

10:18 The alien didn’t use “dan-da-dan” but “dan dan” (which you picked up correctly). The two are not related. “Dan dan” is used to mean “gradually/progressively.” For instance, “Kimi wa dan dan nemuku naru,” means “You are getting sleepier and sleepier.”

You might be thinking of Ganguro. It’s a subculture of gyaru (gal) culture. Ganguro was back in late 90s or early 2000s though so it’s not quite that. It is a related subculture but I forget all the different names since I left Japan and no longer see them every day. Using the wrong name can be considered offensive but not if you are not Japanese because you are not expected to know.

Dandadan is like Mob, except you have aliens, ghosts, ghost aliens. The pace of the story is very much the enemy of the week, until the kaiju arc begins where it's just aliens. Now in the current arc of the manga it's more ghostly

Enemy of the week? Literally from chapter 1 the arc is about Turbo Granny until few episode later. Then it will start another introduction arc before the arcs getting a bit longer and longer after the gang formed. Enemy of the week is so doraemon like pace where every chapter deals with different situation, which in this case is so wrong, Dandadan has goal since day 1.

​@@rainscents next episode is the enemy that follows the rules of sumo, then comes the conclusion of the turbo Granny, then we will have the Hair ghost , the boxing shrimp and Nessi, and then the monster that needs to eat children and all with enough proximity to be "the enemy of the week". besides that they fight some Aliens in the middle ground? I don't remember it's been so long since I read the first chaptersmo,

@@NuubsInfelizes its not about next week is this ghost and next week is this one while the next next one is this and this. Instead, next week will be set up for introducing the grandma, the monster came because the consequences of Momo doing something for Okarun. Its just building the world and telling Momo and us audiences that the grandma is actually a real spirit medium. We have something similar to "bla bla of the week" term but mostly used in gag manga. It usually about a standalone story that doesnt really connected to previous or next chapter. If it is connected, it is simply an arc. The early arc is so fast paced as you definitely know about that already. Arc could be short or long, the longer one called major arc.

Knowing alien abduction stories, they have tendency to be quite r**ey. Just read e.g. Whitley Strieber's famous book, Communion. In an uncomfortable way, the scene showed that the author knows about such stories.

I’m not about to write an essay just know the author was a student of chainsawman this is like csm plus JJK but csm. Think of csm on cracks from s1 that u saw. This anime peak everything about episode 1 was a success the OP, voice actors, and especially the animation. I would rather have mappa but everything that I saw I read the manga if this was great s1-3 will be crazier. Not complaining we’re in for another peak new gen anime buckle up we’re not ready!

I really wish people would stop parroting the Chainsawman connection. First of all, Yukinobu Tatsu is older than Fujimoto and was already a manga artist before he worked as an assistant for Fujimoto. Fujimoto was paired with several talented assistants who had not had breakout series yet to help foster him, and they were actually influences on him. Calling Tatsu a "student" of Fujimoto is super disrespectful.
