Bit of a nitpick, but when the projects are as expensive and time consuming as they often can be (and it's his content), Hermione's quote just doesn't really apply super well (ignoring her sarcasm to illustrate how much she really doesn't want to be expelled). If he said "for safety reasons, but more importantly..." etc. that would work.

What a way to have fun! Best part is it's all under the premise (of one form) of safety. Thank you for having a valid reason to destroy those beakers. So many other KZbinrs would just buy beakers to break them, and not all chemists would be willing to throw out their entire set. I do admit I wish there was a way you could have tested them all first to potentially save some, but tests aren't always 100% accurate and what's done is done.

You should never microwave canning jars either, they can fail in the exact same way if they are used for pressure canning after being microwaved. To be safe, I just never put any mason jars in the microwave so I don’t have to keep track.

What? That's crazy! As though the teachers and lab workers haven't broken their own share of beakers. I know I have, and the concern was never on the value of the beaker (which really isn't as much as you would think) but the safety of the students and staff. Could it have been a ploy to get you to be more careful? 🤔 That's my guess anyway. Otherwise, that's just unreasonable, smh.
