I've been raising up a few pairs of garters,four pairs . I think those would be so nice for a pair . 2x2 is about perfect and the height is nice they like to climb and purch up on branches or cork. I've had them in a big community tank but it's about time to get them in separate enclosure for breeding . It is nice to have a clean looking setup so it looks nice in the room . I enjoy watching your videos because of the good information and the excellent care you take of all your animals. Love the green tree monitors so amazing! I couldn't get one so I got some emerald tree skinks . Like all your videos keep it up.

I watch a lot of shorts nowadays, I enjoy yours immensely but if it’s too much I’m happy to just have videos There sure isn’t the pothos coverage in the new setups, you said there’s enough hiding areas though. but I bet the front opening will help with the prey instincts of being caught from above QOTD: I think a dart frog rack would be fun, or different tree frog species. I adore amphibians.

Thanks so much! Honestly, I’ve been experimenting back and forth and this works very well + it’s much easier to maintain. I think it’s a necessary compromise. If I only had one pair of crocodile skinks I’d probably do a huge Paludarium but that’s not the case so I think it’s important to mix ease of care + efficiency while trying to still have beautiful, naturalistic vivrais that helps the animals feel secure and at home!

I know this is a old video but the tank you said had two baby's and a egg actually has three baby's and a egg. you can for a brief moment see them from 6:56-6:58. its easier if you use 0.25 times speed because it moves away fast right as you were lifting the wood piece. I hadn't seen anyone in the comments say anything so wanted to mention it.
@Reptiliatus
@Reptiliatus Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Many people have shared this but the animal that actually scurries away is one of the adults. It’s tricky to spot because the substrate is the same colour but if you look to the right of the wood you can see the body move and much larger. ☺️

Would you recommend crocodile skinks for a beginner? I want to get a blue tongued skink someday but these are so pretty and interesting to look at. Although i do understand they are just kind of a watch don't touch kind of reptile

Hi there! Love all the videos and watching your mini dragon project has been amazing to follow while I raise my own. Might I suggest taking the egg out of the container - mine move their eggs depending on what it needs from a humidity perspective and I imagine it’ll be hard for her to move it out of the deli cup if she wants to. It’s really amazing how much they care for their eggs/young! Congrats on such a successful project 😊

Thank you so much for the suggestion Stephany! I had considered that but got worried about the juveniles rummaging around too much. Perhaps I’ll check on the egg in the morning and make the call about removing the container. Many thanks 🙏🏼☺️

Ngl Ive been wanting crocodile skinks but have shied away from keeping them cause of the water feature and not wanting to have loud water filters running all the time. Since I like keeping my animals in my office to give me that little kick of serotonin whenever I get too stressed working. It also helped me with taming them down a lot since I spend so much time there and they're always around me 😄 For the QOTD I'd probably have tokay geckos or hognoses in the leap enclosures as those are two of my favorite types of reptiles that I own!

These crocodile skinks fascinate me. If I could have a Leaf set up like that I would like to choose a reptile that is currently mostly wild caught and establish a captive bred source. I am brand new and don't even have a first reptile. So I am not sure where to start so I just keep researching.

These terrariums look so cool! Absolutely love the driftwood hardscape, wonder if the skinks will breed as often tho with only a water bowl rather then pond

@@Reptiliatus awesome! If they do great with just a water bowl that'll probably help skyrocket their popularity due to many struggling with paludariums. Personally love paludariums but it can definitely take a while to perfect them but you can make them filterless if done right

WOW congratulations!!! These are stunning! I live in Ontario Canada. I'm pretty sure you too are Canadian, eh? Would you ever sell a crocodile skink? As for your question of the day, I would need 2 racks to answer the question fully. The 1st rack would be to rehouse the 6 bearded dragons that I already own. You see, I'm a disabled person and enclosures like that would make my life so much easier! The second rack, I would buy a crocodile skink from you, a gargoyle gecko ive been eyeing at my local reptile store, as well as adopt and foster more bearded dragons from my local reptile rescue! I have a knack with special needs beardies and have helped them out in the past. They are also getting pretty crowded, so, I would love to help them out. Does the company that you talked about make enclosures big enough for adult beardies? I do warn you, one of my beardies is part German Giant and is 18 inches from snout to tail! Thanks and praise!

Been loving your RECS videos, they're so informative! I was wondering would you recommend a bioactive glass enclosure, like your paludarium, or a plastic tub for the long term? Don't really know how hard it actually is to maintain humidity levels and keep up with the cleaning process.

Hi, what an amazing video, only one question, tribolonotus gracilis and tribolonotus novaeguineae can reproduce them? For example, a male tribolonotus gracilis and a female tribolonotus novaeguineae, could have a baby? And if it is possible, what specie would be the baby?

Looks great. Two mininor things. Move the lights further to the vavk as the back part of the enclosures are dark. Also, it's unfortunate they did not send you lower enclosures as it seems to be a waste of space since the skinks are ground dwelling. Other then that looks awesome! Any idea when the young will be available?

Thanks for the heads up! I actually have 5.0 uvb fixtures that’ll help illuminate the back portions of the walls soon. I’m just doing one row for now to make sure the temperatures stay safe and don’t get too hot for now since led + t5 can generate decent heat and crocodile skinks don’t like too much of that! Yea, that’s why I added some small palms to the taller two habitats. Hoping they’ll grow in more and fill the height a bit over time! For now, the babies won’t be available, sorry. I’ll consider selling some in a few months or when they are hardier and a bit larger in size.

I'd love to have a set up of Leap habitats for my Geckolepis Maculata aka Fish Scale Gecko families I have. I was actually looking at their habitats the other week and would love to get some eventually and some for the Crested Geckos as well.
