I don't understand half the points you're trying to make. You just ramble and don't seem to make any points, other than you "hating" it. You tried and I can't hate on that. "Bless your heart."

The editing is kinda wonky at times but SafeHaven Film Reviews made a video on it that tries to go deeper into the themes. He interpreted things a bit different than I think it was meant and never covered every theme in it but said he would if there's enough of a push for it. Just in case you were looking for a different perspective on the film

I don't think you understood the premise of this movie, it perfectly puts how all social media and ppl are just arguing in order to have any inkling of a voice or substance in the world lol. Just as you are in making your response. "Everything means Everything, so Nothing means Anything" most times ppl argue someone's opinion just to try and be unique even if that's not how they really feel. It's so sad to know the world is just divided and feels nothing with their common man anymore, except for when they try to show off what they can't really afford, financially or emotionally. Even if this movie takes an hour or two to change someone from being this way; it makes it a good movie

I definitely realize what the point of this is and I frequently agreed with its sentiment. It’s just grossly on the nose and obnoxious for me. But I’m with you, if someone gets something out of it, that’s great.

@@RendanLovell I mean absolutely I agree with you but sometimes it takes grossly in-your-face content to make a change. That's why this generation and honestly the world has become very faint of heart of the things going on around them or easily triggered. I'm proud to say I grew up with brutal honesty and decision-making, because that's how the world is. Unfortunately or not we don't live in a utopian society

I watched both before even coming here lol. Wanted to hear both sides. Edit: Lucas Blue did one too

5:18 theres nothing i hate more than an interviewer that is clearly such a corporate hack that they’re incapable of having basic responses to their interviewee. Literally laughing at him raising his voice as if thats the punchline

I agree completely. I do think he has a few cool ideas that might’ve made for a compelling movie if he knew how to use them rather than just have characters explain them to us. It’s like there’s a self-awareness he has that he’s kind of a douchebag who condescends to people because he constantly underestimates their intelligence, but he’s trying to fix it by being a condescending douchebag. Then there’s the ending. Just awful. As a Texan, I felt some love from this movie but I kept wanting to say “my eyes are up here, dude.”

much respect for you for allowing room for all sorts of takes and opinions and respecting moves are both subjective and objective. Personally loved the movie. And you’re wrong. But, respect. 😂 I kid I kid. you’ve got some solid critiques. Cheers.

I feel like you completely misunderstood the satire of the entire movie. I thought it successfully communicated the modern day issue of society being disconnected. Whether it’s politics, social media or the endless pursuit of having your voice and opinions validate your existence, this movie does a great job of balancing nihilism & what gives life meaning (if any). Weird how you focused more on the lack of Dove Cameron scenes rather than putting together a single cohesive thought. 🧐 Sorry, but your entire review seemed like an “endless monologue.”

And, holy moly, the word you seem to be searching for is: EXPOSITION! How many times can you say “over explaining ” 😅 You definitely don’t have to like the film, but I sincerely hope that people don’t watch this review and think it has a “lettuce shred” of intellectual credibility!!

I understand the film, which is the point. While I agree with some of its messaging I don’t like being preached or pandered too. Based on your preachy, pandering comments, this is the perfect movie for you!

I just saw Vengeance. I avoided it figuring it was a chance to have a got at “flyover country”. By act two it seemed like maybe BJ’s character had actually grown and was wrong about Texas. Then to troll the audience it flips back to the stereotypes are true and New Yorkers are out savors. 🤦‍♂️

It was ok. Fast forwarded the john mayer opening because he sucks. The one thing that stuck out was how his character went off on the family because... it made no sense other than to feature his asshole liberal vs rural America rant. The ending was pretty lame as well.

Yeah, I didn’t like it either. I was looking for a random movie to watch the other night and saw that this was on prime. Idk, the poster baited me in. Googled it and saw it had good reviews and decided to check it out. Huge mistake. I was misled lol. The opening was irritating because not only did the dialogue suck, but the shots were weird, and it kept cutting in the credits for some reason. Very distracting and it constantly took me out of the film. Also couldn’t really make out what was happening with the dead girl at the beginning, it was dark as fuck. The ending was horrible. I gave it a 4/10 bcuz I’ve definitely seen worse. Boyd was also nice, I wish he was given more. BJ Novak sucks tho

this isn’t just this movie it’s modern movies. They always have to overexplain everything especially jokes and pass it off as the character being quirky/awkward.
