As someone who is Autistic and loves all things about history and the 1800s/1920s. I collect antiques myself. One day i want to become a fashion/historian who educate people on Victorian fashion. and i what to make KZbin videos debunking myths or misinformation about the clothing from the past, but I really enjoyed your video and you inspire me to become what I most desired to be a historian! 😊

Oh! How splendid! 1924 was such a great year, especially for music and inventions. If you lived near me I would come! Of course, if I'd recieved an invitation.😅 Ahh well that sounds divine and It'll be a smashing event! And how!😉 May I recommend a tune?? What a great idea! My house was already 18 years old when yours was born, uh, built. The 1920s seem a bit more "do-able" than a 1906 themed party.. 😀

@@The1920sChannel I have a lot of books about and from the 1920s, including some first editions and even one signed by bootlegger Bill McCoy. It is a big area of research for me and your channel provides me with a lot of ideas and information. I'd love to exchange sources and ideas some day. Well when I was younger, I’d go around to different antique stores throughout the U.S. and eventually there would be a good one, though many of them just sell furniture. Now, I often use ebay, though you usually don’t get really good deals there.

Oh, just as an add on, my Mom and Dad were from the Mid-West, but through the Draft Era, pay for even Staff NCO's was pretty bad so the enlisted did their best to keep their families overseas. I was born in the Philippines, raised there, Nippon, and on Okinawa while it was still an American Terr. Yeah, I'm old. Dad actually had a very high place assignment and when he wasn't In Country Vietnam, he worked with the local police and military training them in his areas of specialty. No matter where we were Mom taught English in the local public schools, and the best part was that they both insisted that we didn't just live there, we learned and experienced as much as possible of the local cultures. As for trying to find things from the 20's, you should drive around the deep southern states and stop at old rundown stores. I was in Alabama and got an oil change at a ramshackle gas station and in a glass display case where the cash register rested was every cash register that station had ever used including a mechanical register that was so well finished it must have been from before WW2 in its manufacture. Think of them as Easter Eggs in that the best ones are found where you least expect them.
