Very nice collection! I'd list my collection but it's a bit too extensive I'm afraid. I've always gone for quality over quantity but still ended up with over 200 camera in the past 6 years (4 of which I spent hunting for gear)... I'm into this a bit more than most so I have everything from common Canon AE-1's, Nikon F3's, 500C/Ms and Mamiya 7 to fairly rare pieces like a black Contax G2 kit, Rolleiflex Wide and a Leica M2-S. I do have everything on continuous rotation but have been focusing more on repairing in the past 2 years. Where the challenge used to be to find insane deals on gear, I now much more enjoy meeting the previous owners and repairing/servicing the equipment. But I'm still extremely proud of my collection. I can safely say I have everything I ever wanted and pretty much everything one could ever dream of owning. Only been doing this for 6 years but at 25yo, I still have so much stuff to explore with an endless passion for these old cameras :D

Hahaha. I know I (and likely many others) related to this one heavily. Good stuff mate. Fuuuuu... I'm not even going to attempt to list mine out here. It'd start out fun and then turn to a little embarrassing. I will say all these years I've somehow managed to remain 100% completely Leica-free. Not sure how (but I make up for it in other brands/systems). Grass is always greener, but the truth is many of just love cameras, love the differences, the quality, the quirks, the different feels and handling. What brings you joy brings you joy. For my part, except for a handful of sentimental and shelf-pieces, I do my best to cycle through and purge every couple years. I don't like to have more cameras than I can shoot in a reasonable amount of time because a) that means no one is shooting them regularly enough and b) that might lead to them just wasting away out of disuse and not enough exercise. I've reached my tipping point again recently. Ahhhh well.

Liking the M4. Get your Winogrand going with more street photography on the mundane streets of Singapore! Nice video.

Thank you. Street photography is very hard here but I'll try my best.

Growing up in the film only era, I had many cameras I dreamed of owning. fortunately, in the early days of digital, the word was that film would no longer be made. Professional photographers were dumping their gear to buy digital because their work demanded it. My only regret was that I didn't buy more. Never did get any of those Hasselblad systems selling for $1000. At the time, a bit out of my budget but did get 6 Pentax 67 with most of the lenses. A few Mamiya C220's. Also 4 Norita 66 with the 80mm f2.0. Found Yashica T4's in the $3 bin. Got a bunch of Pentax LX gear and Canon F-1 New gear. Nikons up to the F5. Leica rangefinders never did get cheap here, they hold their value. Never got a Mamiya 7 because it was always out of my price range. I did find some substitutes, the Mamiya Press and Universal cameras have interchangeable backs 6x7 and 6x9, lenses from 50mm to 250mm. Also the Koni-Omega rangefinders as well as their 6x7 TLR. I got good deals on a Contax IIa, a Contax Bullseye, and a Contaflex 35mm TLR. I also got a good deal on a 4x5 Cambo outfit. I am running out of space.

Great collection of cameras! What was that last green Leica at the very end of the video? I haven’t seen one of these before 🤨

Thanks :). It's a very special (to me) limited edition Leica MP. I will make a video about soon.

That Nakano junk shop is called Fujiya Camera, walking distance from me. Was the Shinjuku junk shop Box Camera? (tiny basement shop), I need a just for fun cheap TLR. I have the Hass 2000 FC/M, my most used camera and I did take a lightning shot with it...:)
@bangsmash2 жыл бұрын
It used to be opposite the main shop and then moved upstairs in Nakano Broadway a few years back right? The Bronica ETRS was from a little camera shop at the end of the small streets along Waseda-dori Avenue, I think it has shut down now. The TLR from Shinjuku came from a shop on a corner with big yellow Nikon sign, I think it has closed down now (there’s a 5% chance I’m misremembering and it actually came from Lucky). I miss visiting Japan so much :(.

@@bangsmash The Nakano junk shop has moved again, now just down the street from the main shop near Nakano Broadway (the covered mall). The big yellow Nikon sign shop is gone now, closed forever. Lucky is still there, the Lucky owner is a bit of a character...:) Hope you have a chance to get back to Japan someday, we are on hold here, now into the third year...:(

Is Nisshin (Akihabara, near Iwamotocho station) still around? That's where the 105mm lens for the Pentax 67 came from. I think that's all of my Tokyo camera shop exploits.
@john_murch2 жыл бұрын
@@bangsmash Yes Nisshin is still around, I bought some film there recently. The owner (son) seems to be a very friendly guy.
