If you remember their first season though, they had literally their 4th string goalie playing after fleury got hurt. They have had terrible luck with goalie injuries their whole existence.

Vegas silver knights (AHL team) still have Brossoit, so (being from Vegas) I'm not too worried about our goal tending for the rest of the year. It'll be good enough, so long as we don't end up in a lot of shootouts. I'm mostly concerned that Thompson might not return to full form once he recovers. Which has been typical of members of the team.

I personally think it's karma from the way they robbed every team during their draft. They wanted all the picks and the best players. You can't do that and not expect it to catch up with you eventually.

So many injuries this season and last season. I’m a fan of the Knights but also a fan of all hockey players and never like folks get injured no matter what sweater they wear

For me it's all roster construction. Trading for injury prone or at the very least risky players (Jack Eichel) and expecting them not to get injured is crazy to me. Yes they were hit by injury's hard last year and to a certain extent this year but most playoff teams/contender have a good enough farm system to easily replace these losses. Yes they have had terrible luck with goaltending but they probably wouldn't be having any of these problems if they kept there #1 Fleury or didn't play Lehner whilst he was injured. The LA Kings for example had all 6 starting defensemen missing at the same time alongside multiple top 6 forwards missing for parts of there playoff push in 2021-2022 but they played as a team, used there farm system and were alright. This is what happens when you take big risk and they don't all pan out.

If cursed is making the stanely cup finals, 2 conference finals and only one missed playoffs in 6 years, I can't imagine what you'd call teams like Vancouver, Buffalo and Columbus.

They made their own luck. Literally came out the gate built for success, with a roster a mile deep with solid performers and great synergy, cooperation, and comradery. Over the course of 2 years they traded away both their depth and their future while wiping out any remaining team identity and cohesion. Just to acquire "star" players who were a marginal improvement at best.

It’s not a curse, it’s karma for going to the finals in the first year, terrible miss management of players, just being all around dicks in 2020 and 2021 as well as giving Fleury away for nothing. Also, when you are an older team your teams just in general more injury prone.

Their system.of spending for the moment instead of depending on their farm system will collapse! They will suddenly get into a situation where Salary Caps and desolated farm team will bite them In the arse! This is why the Canucks are bottomed out. This spending to fill temporary void may work short term but a word to the wise, you're leaving your young players with no upward opportunity and they'll be gone and you will scratch your head wondering where your farm team went...well you essentially spent them away and they got sick of waiting! The Wild, although severely underperforming, have perhaps the best opportunity with very talented farm system. This late season trouble will pass. Sure this year may be tanked but the prospects coming up are a thing of beauty. Guerin says he is not looking to crisis spend. We will see how that works out but the Wild are in good salary cap position should they have an opportunity on a big, fast defenseman or two but I don't see them chasing forwards unless it is a solid performer who can fill wing/center depth and leadership. Guerin says the problems Wild are having is internal. Some say we need a coaching change we will see what happens in the next 10 to 15 days running up to March 3 deadline.

True but Mark Stone is out for the season (as I mentioned). Many are talking about the possibility of Kane being traded to VGK to help with offense.

@@alyssahopeextras It's true that VGK are always buyers at the deadline, but without healthy goaltending, they won't go anywhere in the playoffs. Brossoit and Hill were the tandem they were expecting at the beginning of the season, now they'll have to see how well they hold up. I like both tenders, but they're unproven as starters.

As a knights and flyers fan, you hate both of those teams lol I feel like goaltending’s always been not sustainable in both Philly and Vegas. By the way I love your vids
