The era of tribal rule in Uganda must come to an end. Having lived there for 10 years, I've witnessed firsthand how people are growing increasingly weary of Museveni and his regime. They constantly tout "peace and stability," yet the population suffers under the leadership of an aging ruler who acts as if he owns the country. Ugandans, it’s time to reclaim your nation and your future! Love you from Somalia

But why beat protestors? Whatever position a journalist stand doesn’t Matter. He/she is a journalist and they should be respected. Journalists on both sides should be respected because both are producing 3D information from both sides. That is what a civilized government does! When did protesting become a national security when it is peaceful? Journalists should be transparent too if what he says is true.

Where do they draw the line between peaceful protest and riots? Or Uganda simply doesn't condone civil action?
@MrLojilo3 ай бұрын
I am from Kenya and the Kenyan law and Ugandan law bear resemblance in that both are derived from the British law; When people who are lawfully assembled begin to conduct themselves in a manner as to cause a breach of the peace as to endanger the protection of life and property they are unlawfully assembled and the same assembly is called a riot. In 1714 when George 1 became the king of England his opponents started organizing protests against him and the British government anxious to stop the protests enacted a law called ; "The Riot Act"' where public officials were allowed to break up gatherings of upto 12 people or more by reading aloud a proclamation,warning those who heard it that they must disperse within an hour or they will be guilty of a felony punishable by death. That law however draconian it is seemed to be, remained in force until 1973 when it was repealed. Drawing the line is very clear because one's rights stop where another person's rights begin. You see it is foolish for one to argue that he/she has a right to protest without knowing that at the same point where he/she is protesting is for example a business place for another person such that the business person will not carry out his business because of one's protests or demonstration or that place is a road and is a passage say to a hospital or to an airport and by blocking it you cause inconviniences to other peole.For example in Kenya the protestors are supposed to inform the police the route along which they will march( say for example such and such street and end up in such and such park for speeches or address etc) but does it happen?The answer is no.Does is happen in Uganda? I dont know because I am from Kenya. In America there is an open field outside the white house where you can go and can stay there the whole year demonstrating without interfering with other people's activities.
