@@madhaz3359 I actually upgraded during Black Friday to another wheel base from fanatec. I will say, Fanatecs customer support isn’t super great- however, their products are still good, and work well. If you have the CSL DD, you need the boost kit, for sure. It gives you just a bit extra that you’ll find you’re wanting. I only ever found myself wanting just slightly more, like 12 nm- but 8 is plenty. Long story short, overall I really liked mine and still use Fanatec stuff. I think you’ll like yours

As someone who made the transition from Logitech to Fanatec, your videos made the decision to purchase the GT DD easier for me. I did not purchase the boost kit, but seeing this video made me purchase it just now. The wheel arrives end of the month and I can't be any more excited. Keep it up!

1:53 Your face tells the whole story, it was definitely a LOT more. First impressions are always the best and it's so visible how much more force it was compared to before. Also that snippet at 1:12 was just awesome. :D And you also had the MS Sidewinder Wheel?? I had mine until 2013 when I got my G27, even played RaceRoom with it when it was still just a hotlap simulator without AI. :D That thing gave me some good 8 years of entertainment and I still remember that my hands always smelled a little like burned rubber after racing. Those rubber handles were not that good. :D If I were superstitious I might think that this must be a sign because I have the G27 also for 8 years now.

Nice job mate! After 2,5 months of waiting and watching hundreds of YT reviews/first impressions of the CLS DD I finally got my unit yesterday. And was just as happy as you! I also went for the 5nm supply. Its all subjective but to me the 5nm feels double the strength of my G920 and even had to turn down the FFB way lower than the recommended settings. Maybe the ffb of the G920 feels stronger than the G29, idk. But I will def need more time to be ready for the boostkit. The CLS DD is a night and day difference, but you know what? I will always love my G920 and the G29/920 is by far the best kit for starters. I remember my first drive and it blew my mind.

I think the G29 is something like 2 or 2.2nm so the 5nm is more than double 😄

@@thomasham130 Yes, but the rim of the G29 weighs about 400 gram and has a diameter of 28cm. Captain Flats McLaren rim weighs almost 3 times more with a diameter of 30 cm. My rim the same. I guess the GT standard 5nm version will feel stronger because the complete plastic frame and smaller diameter.

Hey ! I have the CSL DD with BK 180 and McLaren V2 Wheel with QR Light ... I have noisy click sounds when changing direction ... Is it normal ? It sounds like a click on the QR

At first I thought my V1 GT2 wheel would be too heavy but with the boost kit @100% you really feel the ffb. If coming from a logitech product you're going to be mind blown.

Yea, My mind is still blown everytime I jump into the rig 😅👍 So far I've only been using the V2 GT2 and the McLaren GT3 rim and I'm very pleased with the experience.

Thanks man! I was like you with 5nm dd. I switched from the csl elite 6nm. The dd is a little bit weaker, but greatly improved detail and smoothness in the shaft, resulting in being able to opposite lock much faster than a belt. I can imagine the improvement thanks to your reactions😄 Now I will have to get the 8nm power pack🙄🤬😋

@@captainflatspot 😭 8nm And the best thing is the dd makes sim driving addictive for me again, it's so tuneable because of the nature of the motor. You can really dial in the feel of any car, because of the feedback range. I found Ndp controls steering weight, and nfr setting controls the spring strength. It's fun playing around with these in Automobilista 2 for example. I imagine it's even more extreme results with the 8nm

Thanks mate. I just tried this DD 8nm on a wheelstand. The GT Omega Apex. It could handle the forcefeedback. But it was more problem to handle the loadcell pedal when braking.

Hello, just a heads up: I wouldn't recommend the BMW wheel for drift and rally because it has a flat bottom. While the flat bottom isn't as extreme as some of the other GT d-shaped wheels, I still think having a perfectly round wheel is better in my personal experience for drift and rally, especially drift. Something you may want to consider...

It was btw a nice surprise the shippingcosts were only 12 euro for the boostkit. I dont like it to pay 150 euro for a psu, but I guess fanatec doesn't make much profit on the 5nm pack, and count on it customers will upgrade sooner of later to the bostkit. That having said, it think it would be better if fanatec sold the 5nm pack for like 400, and the boostkit for 80. 400 for a dd wheelbase is still very cheap and no one would complain about the price for the boostkit
