I Hear Disturbed - The Sound of Silence feat. Myles Kennedy

The first song I listened to with Disturbed's rendition of The Sound of Silence was absolutely breathtaking. And this was added a whole different element with Myles Kennedy's voice.

Myles is the lead vocalist for Alter Bridge, but also is a co-lead guitarist. He is also lead vocalist for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators (SMKC). He also has two solo albums which are both awesome. Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge is the lead guitarist, but is also a vocalist in his solo project Tremonti.

Great reaction.... In the last stanza when Kennedy sang the words, warning and forming..and even the last bar, when he holds the word (soooouunnnd), that high pitch...the hair on the back of my neck stood straight up. Goosebumps and chills with this one. Peace.....

Since I'm old school I love the original from Simon and Garfunkel which I heard in concert in the last 60s or early 70s. Peter Hollens does an acapella version with Tim Foust of Home Free that is worth watching.

Also, I think that David's voice needed no harmony. In my opinion, it detracted from David's message. The Official Music Video is magnificent! I've listened to it over 100 times. Paul Simon contacted David after his live performance on Conan and told him that this song was now HIS and posted the performance on his (Paul's) account. Of all the covers done of SOS, this is the only one Paul has endorsed. Thanks for the post!
