i Work for a power company,a pole is couple hundred bucks. Labor is about $80 an hour for the truck just say $50 an hour for each man x2z should be less than $1000 if not free. We wouldn’t charge our customers if it was just an accident like this. When they get out there if they start talking money ask them do they have an easement to be on your property

I feel your pain. Been there, done that with a disk. Didn't take the pole down, but messed it up enough to cause a short and wreck some of the neighbor's stuff. Definitely call your insurance agent.

We had a guy working on the farm that hit a power pole beside the road with the turbo till running at 11-12mph. Launched the pole out into road into a pickup truck, broke the power lines and they started a fire on the side of the road. Saw the whole thing from the planter. He was working on bastard rows that ended up at the side of the road compared to the rows in the field. Ended up being a very, very expensive day. Could be worse.

About 25 years ago my on friend's boy was plowing a field that he came just with in just inches of a low hanging line that had 7600 volts in it and it arched to the rain cap on there 1950 Oliver . and we heard the KERRRRRBOOM a half mile away . It blew all four tires on the tractor plus the tail wheel on the five bottom plow and blew off three of the five shears clean off the plow . Andy did not get hurt luckly but he may have needed a clean pair of shorts . I did the shelling the fall before in that field And told my friend that line was hanging low when i was shelling under it as it was about a foot or so over the old 410 Massey as i did get out and look before i went under it .

Was hired to dig in a new culver on a county road. Rural Electric Coop came out to look at the location and stated we were OK as the indicator post showing where the cable went under the road was 50 feet away from the point the culver was going. Started digging, made it about 6 feet and came out of the trench with the bucket and looked down in the trench to see three large that cable had been pulled apart but luckly had not shorted together. Someone had placed the indicator posts wrong.

If it is anything like over here I am guessing the ag forums/groups are going nuts as on TFF it usually goes nuts when John Deere axes more dealers as they are on their forth now in our area but the dealer seems to cover about a quarter of England now though given that they haven't been allowed to consolidate the number of depots I'm can't help but wonder how they can make any money with all the costs as they have more depots I believe than Sloans in the US but over a fraction of the area.
@timblack334 ай бұрын
I’m not sure about England but here in the US it’s easy for the big multi store conglomerates to make money. I know they have a lot of overhead but once they buy up all the stores in their area they have no competition. In my area there used to be 4 or 5 different deere dealership’s within an hours drive. When you priced a piece of smaller equipment the dealer would make 10-12%. Now they sell for list price which is 23% margin. Not to mention the huge volume money they get every year.
@SlipShodBob4 ай бұрын
@@timblack33 I think what is causing issues for a lot here is Deere pushing them to put a lot of machinery on their books which is ok for tractors but most implements are an eclectic mix and most combine sales are Class with the next being NH and Agco followed by JD leaving them to have to rely on the tractor sales to cover the combine discounts part here can be dear and in the case of green and yellow combines a 3+ week wait time. But when pushed there isn't the diehard brand loyalty and if things get too expensive they move to Fendt while livestock farms tend to be more eclectic as there isn't such the need of data compatibility
