You are certainly wise beyond your years. Thank you. And I am also impressed by the majority of the comments. You are so right about over thinking it. I would offer the following suggestion. Take a weekend trip - Go to a favorite place- Take the camera and record yourself having fun, laugh and enjoy yourself. then post it with minimal edits. Get back to ENJOYING the video making process again. God Bless.

I used to be a CHRONIC overthinker. And I mean everything, anything that you can think about, my mind tore it to pieces. But eventually, through MUCH trial and error, I found out the best way to not overthink stuff, is don't think about it. Consider and be aware of it, and then be done with it. DO NOT SPEND TIME THINKING ABOUT WHAT YOU COULD'VE DONE OR SHOULD'VE DONE, that will destroy you. Just live and think in the moment, and life will be so much better to live.

I had a girl that I went through a very similar thing in Year 9 but I truly screwed it up myself by taking so long to ask her out and acting as if I didn’t like her. But probably my biggest issue I had with her is that I had this trouble of always acting like someone else and never acting as myself. I would open myself up to be laughed at and made fun of and then would have breakdowns thinking “why does everyone treat me like a joke?” By the end of that year I went on a holiday where I promised myself to relax and that’s when I realised that people were treating me like a joke because I would treat myself like a joke without even knowing it and ever since I’ve worked harder and harder to know who I am and I’ve never gone through anything like that again. I still have sleepless nights due to overthinking though as I have a very creative brain that doesn’t switch off but I still thought this story might be helpful to share for some people asking the same questions as I was in Year 9.

8:19 I genuinely cried. My overthinking used to completely consume me. I wasted months of my life wondering if it would ever go away. Now I've just come to accept it and not let it control me because I used to think it had to control me. I don't think that way anymore. Now whenever I overthink I go outside or if I can't, look outside to ground myself and bring myself back to the present. This analogy is so great and I've never heard something like it. Thank you for that so much Jak, your videos motivate me to keep doing better every single day and constantly improve myself and become a better person. The world really needs more people like you- you've had a truly big impact on my self esteem and overall mental health because your words inspire me so much to keep doing better. Sometimes I relapse and go back to my old habits, but I'm disciplined and know it's not good for me, so I stop it early on and keep improving myself. Preach bro 👍🏻😊🙏🏻🩵

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it forever. Learn to be fine with not being absolutely fine. The best way to control your stress or anxiety is to simply not care. If you don’t care, then nothing can rlly touch you. Coming from someone who has managed to move on from some of the worst trauma a child can experience, acceptance is your only way out. Learn to acknowledge everything that has happened to you and everything that will ever happen. Feelings aren’t fake, they are probably the realest thing ever. But even then, you can’t let them control you. Personally, I buried my feelings for years to the point of dissociation. The only way I came out of it was realizing that why tf should I care if someone sees me cry. Why should I care if someone likes me for me or for my possessions. Or if they even like me at all. Focusing on yourself is the only way to survive. In a world out to get you, yourself and your family and your true friends are your only safe haven in a sea of danger. Learn to be comfortable in the uncontrollable, bc you can’t plan for everything

I felt the exact same things since I was also around 14-15. I started to overthink the smallest things like how am I gonna get home from school even when I knew the answer. But I recently found out that this is what's supposed to happen when you're in your teenage years. Moodswings, sensitive emotions, and overthinking with anxiety are the natural effects of hormonal changes. I also even experienced panic attacks in the first two months or so, also this is the age our brains start to transform so we Will be able to make responsible choices As adults in the future. It is totally Okay to feel overwhelmed or stressed sometimes, because we can't Tell what we are going through exactly. I am so happy that I found your channels because I can relate to someone my age. I watched this video at 12AM on a school night overthinking, about myself, about others, about my future, and what I can do now. I feel you, I’m currently 14 and there’s this girl I like in some of my classes, we talk a lot, we sometimes flirt, but I just don’t have the courage to ask her out. I’m young, we’re young, I just don’t think I’m old enough, strong enough, brave enough. Sometimes when I’m mindlessly scrolling or doing a chore outside I have this rare moment of clarity, “I’m not living, I’m merely surviving” is a thought that crosses my mind every time in those situations, and what do I do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I just don’t have the motivation, I wish I did, I wish I could just get up and do something. And yet here I lay. In my bed, scrolling, coping with the fact that I’m never happy, never having fun, just existing. On a planet, in a solar system, in a galaxy, in a universe. I’m merely surviving, and I do nothing about it.

The fish and ocean analogy immediately hit hard. I often overthink about the past and have even been waking up with anxiety lately because of it. I truly do have a lot of self respect, I'm semi-disciplined, but it still gets me, Instead of observing the bait, I have gotten lured in by it. I think it happens to everyone in some shape or form. I like to believe there's a lesson out of everything in life, and it is just a matter of it is very important to learn your lesson but you can't let it consume you. Thank you for this video bro, your videos and outlooks on life have been reaching me at a perfect time where I'm growing up and still figuring out life with college, work, and just not letting those thoughts win the mental battle. I love that you always have a lesson at the end of each video and everyday i look forward to seeing a hearing a new one. I am so lucky i found someone that can relate to me so much it's crazy. Sorry i made this long, love to give feedback and support you brotha. Much love ❤❤❤

Me and my family went on a Disney cruise recently and when I was on it all of my bad and overwhelming thoughts just vanished as soon as I got on the cruise. Everywhere it was happiness, family, and fun and I think that’s what made all of those bad things just vanish. (And your videos are very helpful and I am sorry about your father.)

Too relatable. It's so easy to become fixated on tiny details and hopes we all have. In my experience, the best thing you can do is focus on positive things, work on discipline and forget about what people think. It sounds hard, but when you find this state with no worries, everything feels amazing.

last video i that i was gonna watch before i sleep, and in the first few seconds everything you said and i mean *everything* perfectly described who i am in the last 5 months. and in these 5 months, i always would overthink my goals or how people view me and i still do to this day, but when i watched this video from the start til the end it really hit me to the point where there just might be a time where i’m in my death bed still thinking about these thoughts thinking about how i will achieve success, how people view me, heck even how my parents even view me since recently a just 2 weeks ago my parents started to think of me as just darkness inside. i know what’s best for me yet i haven’t done it yet but having to listen to your powerful messages time to time almost a one by one piece of what i am experiencing right now hits even more to the point it’s forcing me to move forward by it’s own. we’ll all get to there someday.

Thank you for this video brother, I was also having these thoughts the last couple of years and it's giving me relief to watch these type of videos to be reassured that I'm not alone in this process and that we are all just normal human beings trying to pave a way into our lives and to add something to your video never forget that.. (what I'm about to say is to everyone who reads this) You are enough, we are all enough and you are trying your best, so I'm proud of you brother.., sister.., whoever is behind that little screen or big monitor reading this comment. Remember, anxiety is just an emotion, it's something you can take control of and it's also something temporarily. It's a part of our nature together with happiness. Like Jak told us, one can't live without the other and that's indeed completely fine. Have a good one people, be kind and good luck out there!

First time watching this guy, im blown away. never thought id hear someone explain exactly what i feel, i understand the whole girl thing at 14, taking a big loss, not being able to sleep, and the last year ive really gone in a downward spiral. Overthinking is one of my biggest flaws, but others say its a gift. its a huge struggle and sometimes causes me to forget to be in the moment whether thats with my family, friends, or girlfriend. sometimes it causes me to hurt them without trying. the best way to handle it (in my opinion) is talking with your parents or those who are closest to you. I look at my parents, siblings, and girlfriend through a new light now. Those who really love you will make sure your okay, be willing to help you and encourage you. I hope more people see this video because they are far more people who deal with the same stuff and need to watch this to be able to relate and look through the comments to realize they arent alone. if anyone reads this know someone cares for you, prays for you, and loves you, even if it doesnt feel like it

Sorry to say guys I’m 24 and it’s probably at its worst for me know, not issues with girls but just the overthinking about life, success, how to life. Was living in London, finance job, 5 years in a relationship, with friends and now I’m back in my small town, nothing to do, can’t drive, and not working, overweight, anxious, with credit issues now Trying to sort out now but have a lot of family issues going on. I want and plan to start my own business within the next couple of months, try and have less stress, find ways to have things look forward to, look after my health and lose fat, and try and be mentally back to a good place, and hopefully if these situations with my family get better I will move and start a fresh in another city, ideally near the coast somewhere. For those who want more from life but struggle with the monotony and the barriers and noise, keep your head up, I’m sure we will find some way to be proud of ourselves one day!
