You have no idea how much we appreciate you showing your audience that stuff breaks regularly. So many KZbin car channels edit out all of the brittle plastic, torn rubber, and broken wire connectors. So then when a novice starts to work on a car they become discouraged and feel like they’re doing something wrong when everything is brittle and falls apart like broken glass. Thank you very much for being real and honest.

I know I'm not the only one here who has Alex to thank for inspiration & confidence in my (our) Mercedes ownership & diy. And as far as BMW goes, Streten reminds us you really just need to know the platform/chassis & give it what it needs when it needs it. In the wake of EV's being forced down our throats, I really hope we can continue with the content of this video for as long as possible.

Seeing how mint the engine is, this car is totally worth a supercharger change. I hope it will make a difference 😅. Awesome chemistry with Peter, also all smiles and positive vibes. I like to use dielectric grease or silicone lube on any electrical connectors. It makes them easier to service and Keeps moisture out of the connector between services or sensor replacement whatever you have going on. Also, I find that because you have lubed your connections- things break less often especially with mid 90s to early 2010s German/euro cars and their wiring

Just wanted to give some advise from my long experience in motorsports and using o-ring cord. Most areas that don't see too much pressure, if the cord is cut to proper length already, you can take the 2 butt ends and superglue them together, however your method of using RTV in the ring groove is perfectly acceptable (only main difference is I would have the start/end section somewhere along a long straight section versus butting together in a corner). I also like to use a little dressing or sealant in the groove area to help hold the cord in its groove for installation. Typically I've used Molykote 111 for areas that won't see a lot of fuel, and Permatex 85420 for areas that would get a lot of fuel wash (i.e. large volume intake plenums with secondary fuel injection). Otherwise love the content and keep it going! Also wanted to mention I loved the water ingestion for carbon cleaning. It gave some very significant proof on water/steam efficacy on cleaning carbon buildup in the combustion chamber.

Awesome! I love these cars! I'm wondering are you going to do something similar with the 335i? It will be a lot less expensive I would be willing to guess. But I guess that depends on what you actually end up installing on it and if you decided to do the internals on it as well. I love that "0 to 60" are doing a build like that but for budget people to learn what works and what doesn't in the world of cheap small budget BIG power for those like me who love power and luxury but have an incredibly small budget. LOL. I would love if you decide to do that too. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. I would have said "Hey maybe after this you could build an amazing big power super handling car with the E30" but you gave it away instead. Sigh.... Oh well maybe they'll do something cool with it. LOL. Keep up the killer content! Thank you!
@possumpopper892 жыл бұрын
Does it seem sensible to install a huge throttle body when all that extra air still has to go through the factory size opening in the inter-cooler? It would seem you would reach a point of diminishing return. Wouldn’t increasing the ports on the inter cooler be needed for larger throttle bodies to see a useful increase in airflow?
@stuartd97412 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same. The Merc intercooler is quite small. Thou there must be some over engineering/ extra capacity available above standard tune.. Think Alex is looking at 200+ hp boost. If he wanted to go 800/900 that intercooler might then start to become restrictive.. Well soon know when he puts in on the Dyno......
