When you had the oil pan off did you check the oil pickup tube filter? These engines are known to get clogged up at the pickub tube filter. Great content keep the good work! Greetings from the Netherlands

I had a mk4 gti and the previous owner had that oil filter on there so tight, it was a 3 hour ordeal to get it off after ripping it apart lol

When you oil filter is stuck like, i usually use a piece of wood for leverage and kick it lol works perfect for not having a impact

Just curious cause I am doing this on my 1.8t but why bend the oil drain line if your gonna put on the tubing anyways.. won’t that hot effect how it sits?

It would have been at way too much of a opposite angle which would have caused oil to back up

I did my oil pan on my MKV GTI and I have the same pan setup that job suckkkssss. I did my pan 4 days ago I wish this was out earlier lol. I ended up getting a 10mm socket stuck in the trans and i barely fished it out during the pan install. 0/10 wouldn't recommend doing the oil pan yourself.
